Will the Wii be compatible with projectors? I have found some light guns which are supposedly compatible with projectors and stuff but seeing as a 42" plasma costs a couple of thousand pounds vs about £800 for a projector and screen I was just wondering.
Looks like a good line up and excellent news that they are definitely confirming the backwards compatibility.
Tomas @ May 3rd 2006 3:31AM
While I like the name "Wii", I must admit that it is a bit wierd to see Wii in a game name. Ah well, hope it'll just need some time :)
corwin @ May 3rd 2006 3:32AM
they forgot Halo.
SPAM_A_LOT @ May 3rd 2006 3:33AM
The wiimote does not operate the same way as a light gun does. It uses a separate sensor to detect movement. This will make the wii compatible with virtually any type of visual output.
SPAM_A_LOT @ May 3rd 2006 3:35AM
Halo? Something tells me that Microsoft might not want to share that one.
jonny @ May 3rd 2006 3:49AM
I agree with Spam-A-Lot, they probably won't port Halo over but maybe Halo 2 right? Here's to hoping!
boots (former bd (former b)) @ May 3rd 2006 3:54AM
Halo? What's that? Never heard of it. It must be something nobody likes, so Wii could do well without it.
Ectarth @ May 3rd 2006 4:01AM
"7. Halo? Something tells me that Microsoft might not want to share that one."
I think #5 was trying to be sarcastic...
Tao68 @ May 3rd 2006 4:16AM
I'd like to see "Spore" on that list... and "Okami" would be just as great...
And don't forget there's a new Miyamoto franchise comin': it's not on your list, and i think it will be a nice surprise...
And i'm sure a few games still have to be confirmed at E3, so that's already a nice list, and a bright future for the "Wii"...
Benji @ May 3rd 2006 4:23AM
HOW MANY!!!!???? I am way looking forward to e3 now, that's a lot more than I thought.
Revolution Was A Great Name For A Great System @ May 3rd 2006 4:23AM
Hopefully Microsoft can copy Nintendo’s controller so I can play Halo 3 in style. I was considering buying a Rev, but not with its silly new name!
Long Live Revolution!
Wii is Pee @ May 3rd 2006 4:26AM
yea... to bad for the silly name...
:(
Video44 @ May 3rd 2006 4:32AM
Dude i just got a Wii today!
You have to come over to my house and play with my Wii.
Even my mom has been playing with my Wii lately... its amazing!
Grab on to my Wii-mote and start moving it up and down...
Damn! My Wii-mote is all out of juice!
My wrist is soooo sore from playing with my Wii too much.
Yeah Bob, me and my son love to play with his Wii!
Excuse me sir, how much do your Wii's cost?
captainHampton @ May 3rd 2006 4:50AM
What about Pilot Wings Wii!?
Carl @ May 3rd 2006 5:05AM
#13, #14 and #15. You 3 display so many signs of immaturity its not funny.
Greg2k @ May 3rd 2006 5:35AM
Carl FTW
Jigster @ May 3rd 2006 6:06AM
Blitz Wii Project = Spongebob Squarepants, isn't it?
Praks @ May 3rd 2006 6:15AM
How about a Halowiien ...haha Master Chwiief will be very happy. Wii will kick covenant ass, by moving our wiimote.
MaddoxFour @ May 3rd 2006 6:33AM
Hey Carl its a pretty stupid name, so i kinda agree with #14 #15. What went wrong at Nintendo HQ in Japan?
AC @ May 3rd 2006 6:36AM
Amazing, the wii's name has grown on me, i was disgusted at it first but i like it now, now thats an impressive list (sounds better than the ps3 launch list)
striderhayasa @ May 3rd 2006 6:45AM
ok, can we stop it with the Wii jokes already? E3 is a few days away...who cares? Show me the games.
btboy500 @ May 3rd 2006 6:45AM
Stupid or not, is that honestly any reason not to buy a console?
that guy @ May 3rd 2006 6:54AM
It pains me that I don't see a Pikmin 3 on this list. There's a good chance it'll be on Wii, and a good chance it'll be a launch title. Mark my words, this could be the best launch title.
Also, unless I missed it, this list doesn't allude to the racing title that Fils-Aime said IS going to be for Wii. Rumour has it it could be a new Excite Bike.
aDub @ May 3rd 2006 6:55AM
I'd rather call the new system "why i" - since I'd prefer not to use the Nintendo pronunciation of a made up word. I think that the NES was quite popular even though it was called Famicom outside of the United States. Famicom is such a wonderful name compared to Wii, IMHO.
I too feel that publishers shouldn't use Wii at the end of their game titles... I hope that those titles on the list are tentative, most likely they are.
Regardless, I am looking forward to E3 to shed more light on the upcoming games for the console.
M$suxx @ May 3rd 2006 7:57AM
New Wii ad shows quick glimpses of the new games. Amazing. Simply amazing.

Totalgamerzone @ May 3rd 2006 8:33AM
you forgot the Hideo Kojima game
Korey @ May 3rd 2006 8:51AM
HIDEO KOJIMA is my boy MGS best game series ever i was so happy when they ported MGS1 to the GC I wonder if it will be a MGS though in recent interviews hes said he wants to break away from the series but Wii or Revolution im buying it LONG LIVE REVOLUTION/WII and HIDEO KOJIMA
J B Cougar @ May 3rd 2006 8:55AM
#15, did you get hit in the head and miss out on last week? Maybe you should learn time travel and jet back to the one day those were funny? Just a thought.
Korey @ May 3rd 2006 8:56AM
Sorry for the double post i was just checkin my gmail there was a news mail from Gamespot about Hideos Project heres the linky http://www.gamespot.com/pages/news/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=24568676
Sassagelink @ May 3rd 2006 9:32AM
Anyone that wants to play Halo at all is a complete retard. That has to be one of the crapiest games I have ever played. There are much better FPS out on the market. Nintendo doesn't need to put garbage like Halo on any of there systems.
Momus @ May 3rd 2006 10:22AM
24: Why, I oughta…!!!
AnimalTaglits @ May 3rd 2006 10:29AM
I don't understand why people still aren't mad at the name for this system. It's recockulous.
Da'Cheez @ May 3rd 2006 11:25AM
does anyone know how the wii is going to control GC and N64 games. I cant help but notice their arent any shoulder buttons for the Wiimote. Sure FPS's are a given but there are many games for each of those systems that used every button for their respective controllers. So for full back catalogue fun I hope that Nintendo includes some sorta way to connect the "old fashion" wired controllers to the system.
J B Cougar @ May 3rd 2006 11:37AM
Da, there is a confirmed add-on attachment cradle. You can also just plug in your old GC controller into the side ports, which are hidden under a flap.
Prof-KOS @ May 3rd 2006 11:41AM
Da'Cheez, there will be a shell that resembles a traditional controller and there are ports for Gamecube controllers and memory cards. Not to worry. If they're smart they go for the whole nostalgic feel and sell bluetooth versions of the NES, SNES and N64 controllers for the Wii.
jadenguy @ May 3rd 2006 11:47AM
my guess: american braned names will carry only the W. W-Madden 2007. Smash Bros W. Mario W. Kid Icarus W. etc.
also, i will pronounce it just wi. like half of wifi.
TK_Snake @ May 3rd 2006 11:50AM
As far as I know Nintendo's new system will be compatible with the old Gamecube controller which should be enough for any N64, SNES, Genesis, etc. control scheme. Also when they announced the system they announced what looked like a gamcube controller (with two good analogs) that you plugged the remote into. Nintendo is not going to drop the ball in the playability of classic games. I'm still not convinced that the name will remane Wii, I certainly hope that it isn't. To me this was the thing that Nintendo just had to do. They had to screw it up somehow. I love Nintendo, seriously, Red Steel was the first game in a long time that didn't just look pretty, it looked fun. They do need to concentrate on the gameplay aspects of there system, appealing to non-gamers, and third party support.
daniel @ May 3rd 2006 11:51AM
you realise this isnt a launch list this is a list of possible wii games as in over its life time
Gabriel Asseily @ May 3rd 2006 12:14PM
Thanks SPAM A LOT! That is what I thought but wanted to double check! Super Mario WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!! :-)
Steve Johnson @ May 3rd 2006 12:48PM
@20:
This isn't a launch list. This just a list of games that have been mentioned to be on the Wii within the next few years, and might be officially announced a week from now at E3.
graf1k @ May 3rd 2006 1:34PM
Gamers Daily: "Hey I've got an idea on how to boost our hits. Lets make a speculative list of Wii games. We'll just through a Wii on the end of every Nintendo series and print it as fact."
Slashbunny @ May 3rd 2006 2:18PM
The Wikipedia article has sources for all the games, not just speculation.

That's certainly an awesome list of potential Nintendo Wii games that'll appear at E3 next week. I'm so excited; I really want to run in there and play it first thing Wednesday morning.

WOOHOO Spider-man 3!!!! Hey I wonder how this will top Spider-man 2?
VIVA LA REVOLUTION!
beesmum @ May 3rd 2006 6:59PM
I'm hoping the next update includes Pikmin 3, it's just begging to get the Wii treatment.
RAM @ May 3rd 2006 8:58PM
This is such a sweet line up, I can't wait for the system to come out. Urgh...I can't stand it!
LancerZ @ May 3rd 2006 9:25PM
whoa. #14 your not gonna get the wii because of the new name. that is about the most rediculous thing i think ive ever heard. the controller is reason enough to buy this thing. although i too believe revolution was a better name, it doesnt change my view on the console at all. tell me how much fun you are having when all the high level graphics in the ps3 and 360 are all played out and all you get is the same gameplay over and over. kinda boring if u ask me.
navstar @ May 4th 2006 12:34AM
I want a Space Channel 5 Wii!
Up down up down chu chu chu!!
