Hot HOTPXL screenshot builds anticipation

Could this be the beginning of an Atari comeback? The screenshot above comes from upcoming Atari PSP game seductively titled HOTPXL. Think of it as a dirtier, grittier version of Warioware for the metropspexual set. It'll supposedly have hundreds of tiny (5-second) games and longer-form boss games infused with "digital street culture." Looks fun, sounds creative. Here's to hoping Atari delivers.

Make sure you have your AC or DC adapter handy for the load times on that one!

Take the sexy woman away and it's a "Take Me From Point A to Point B" game. I hope the other mini-games are a bit more interesting/unique/bizarre like Warioware.

From looking at the screenshots on the website (which seemingly no one else did), it looks pretty cool.

Sounds creative? as creative as a copied idea can be?

That dragon with the dot reminds me of this old electronic handheld game, Zap!

As there is no touch screen on the PSP, it looks like you gotta control a virtual hand - maybe with the analogue stick?

K, I thought I was up on things with the whole "metrosexual" deal, but now I feel as obsolete as a Pentium 1. What is metropspexual?

Just figured it out. "PSP." Clever.

If it was Wario Ware with sexy girls I would buy it. But that looks like Wario Ware with forced gangsta-coolness. And I won't buy that.

Warioware with a goal I like the sound of that! Warioware was crappy at best with no goal or purpose. This game promises old school gaming like Zaxxon and Breakout.

Oh I get it. Some people are too cool for cool now.

You know, it is possible for a game to be legitimately cool in a way that's not cool for you, personally.

I weep for the marginalization and forced coolness of gaming.

Gaming is cool for what it is, gaming. Gaming isn't cool because it is infused with street culture.

This reminds me of the Simpsons episode:

If they can figure out a way so you wouldn't have to wait for every little minigame to load, this would be just the shot in the arm the psp needs. It's a great system and is fun for long trips but I still use my gbM for my commute. Sometimes you can only get a few moments to play and this looks like it could be a feast for the moments.

Seems like it could be cool. Anything to put on my PSP that isnt on my PS2 is a godsend.

I know of no shirtless women with dragon tatoos. I know of no women who'll let/want/need someone to rub their tatoo. I know of no women whos skin looks orange in comparison to my hand. My middle digit does not glow.

This would be a most unfamiliar fantasy game to me.

From what I saw on the website it looks like it should have been on DS. Oh well, no big loss from the looks of it. Although someone should really do something with turntables for DS. bto where you could load an mp3 onto it and then use the touchpad to add your own scratching and transforms, ect.

This game looks so lame, its like they decided wario ware touched was a good idea but since they can't actually touch and so gameplay is greatly reduced just throw in random urban culture!

Don't get too excited. Over GameTrailers they have a gameplay video, so i watched it because Wario Ware is one of my favorite GBA games, but when i finished viewing it, it didn't look as fun as Wario Ware, in fact, i dind't like it at all, it looks horrible, the music is really bad, the minigames looks boring!

Wario Ware is all about crazyness and no sense with fun, but this game doesn't ever looks similar
