E3: The Gears of War mural [update 1]

The guy above is currently sketching a large mural for Xbox 360's Gears of War, currently on display at the E3 2006 show floor. So far, this has been the culmination of 10 hours total of hard labor, and he is contracted to finish by Thursday. We'll keep checking up on his progress so you can see his beautiful work come to life.

This camera is taking periodic shots of the artists' work in progress so later they can animate the entire process into a quick montage.

Man, 10+ hours? Intense.. Look's like he's doing a killer job tho! Hope they aren't just going to throw it out after E3 tho.. but it looks like he's doing it on a mat, so killer art for keeps!

Hot damn now that is some sick stuff! Hope he doesn't fuck up anywhere...

Holy Scheisses, he's got a ways to go.

I remember seeing gamespot's pictures taken right before the doors opened to E3 on day 1, Ubisoft had just finished their Ghost Recon booth about 10 minutes before the show began. And this thing isnt even expected to be done until the second day.

Whats the guys name? props to the artist.

the late finish- That's probably the point. I personally love to see these rediculous sidewalk artists in action, because the end product is so incredible that you can't imagine how they got there.

They're few an far between in Boston, but I remember seeing some fantasic drawings in London.

Joystiq- update pic when it's done?

There's a local here in Nova Scotia who does chalk art like that. Amazing stuff. The city charged him as a public nuisance a few years ago, go figure.
