"By next month, we will have sold over 5 million Xbox 360 consoles. More than the original Xbox, the PS1, the PS2, or any other console at that stage in the lifecycle." The sales slide ain't half bad -- Tufte would be proud. The Xbox 360's sales curve is steeper than the competition and steeper than the iPod, a device many consider to be the gold standard of consumer electronics devices"

But isn't the Xbox sold at a loss! Surely the more Microsoft sell, the more they lose. They should be showing the growth of the number of Xbox exclusive titles. I suppose if Apple used a similar model of selling iPods at a loss (imagine a video iPod going at $99) and recouping the money from sales of content, there would be a whole lot more iPods out there. This is comparing apples with oranges here.

Is anyone else disappointed with this conference....Gears of War, Lost Planet looks cool. Blue Dragon looks like it has some potential but the lack of gameplay footage left a lot of questions. The focus seemed to be on the new Microsoft network... and really that just doesn't seem to excite me very much. The HD-DVD add-on was odd and didn't seem to tie in with the system at all. The games seemed blah. GTA 4 was announced but not shown. Don't get me wrong this is going to be a must have but the lack of footage separates me from my excitement. Oh and last but not least the Halo 3 video was as bad as the Afrika video from the Sony press conference...A complete waste of time. There was no hint of gameplay and it was just a cg movie. Last gen. systems could produce it. I wish I could get back the 2 minutes of my life that I wasted watching that thing.

Ok, honestly, I don't see anything really spectacular about the Wii...what, the controller? another mario game? are you serious? ok, I do give credit where credit is due, that controller is a good idea, definitely give new meaning to the word "controller", but until they show how it'll work with a sport game that's not fishing, it's only a novelty. Could possibly be awesome with a fps, however, I'm sure people by now realize that nintendo really doesn't go all that out the way for anything that has violence in it (flashback to the success that was Resident Evil on the gamecube lol).

Sony, Sony, Sony.....$500 & $600? I think they priced themselves right out this race....they hurt themselves right from the start...that's all I gotta say. It's like a Ferrari, sexy, sleek, with good horsepower, and of course I want one, but it's staying in the shop until I hit the lotto (or at least get lucky on a scratch off card lol)

360....what to say here....now I'll be the first to admit I don't go foaming at the mouth for FPS's, if I happen to play one that's good I'll run with it, but once again, my thing is sports games, from that point of view, who can argue with the beauty of Fight Night Round 3? If the 07 games can look like that....then my money is definitely on the 360, for me, it gives me more bang for my buck....and in these times, a little ghetto boy like me is definitely putting that ahead of all the flash, pizzaz, and gimmicks.

Want a winner in the 06-07 console war....
my pick....
XBOX 360 by far

Microsoft has done an excellent job in manufacturing its 360 console. It definitely deserves credit for that. The company has also combined an excellent marketing strategy with a perfect launch date to get the most out of the market. Halo 3 will definitely add to that. Heck, I would buy an Xbox 360 just for Halo 3. The overall speces of the Xbox 360 are going superior to the PS3, but let me remid you, it doesnt depend that much on the hardware of the machine than the actual programming of the game. So far, Microsoft is ontop of everything. Halo 3 will be an impressive feat for Microsoft and will push the 360 to its limits. Considering that Microsoft plans to lower the price of the console in the future and add additional features (in terms of accessories and software upgrades) to the console, it is the best deal on the market right now.

You people have got to be kidding me. Wii beating out microsoft because you people can't grow up. Nintendo has been nothing for some time but you folks just can't believe it. You denial keeps them alive. The only thing stopping MS from destroying all is the games. Nintendo and Sony have their meat hooks in some companys so that games will never be on the 360. But with GTA4 making the cross over, what's next? Pretty soon Wii will only have Mario and Zelda and Sony will have nothing. And come on if you're out of high school and still playing nintendo, then maybe it's time to hang up your toy light saber, put away the stuffed animals and your comfort blanky. Go get a job and move out of you parents basement, then you might be able to afford the 360. Who names anything Wii anyway. Wii is the noise a little child makes when riding a bike for the first time. Weeeeeeeee, I'm only 4 and don't know nothing more exciting than this. Wow just like Nintendo fans, they just don't know any better.

I would just like to say some thing small. Most of us hard core gamers know that there are two diffrent ways to play. There is playing to make your mind work as hard as your eyes and hands and there is paying for the feeling of being a kid. when it comes down to it all i feel that the xbox 360 has the adult side of me and the nintendo kid in all of us. That is why i choose to have both. Who could blame me right.
