I'm somewhat not surprised it's not aimed for the West.

#2, it would certainly fail in the zOMG 18-24 male U.S. demographic. Which, uh, may be why they aren't planning to release it here or market to that demographic.

I disagree with some of the things said in the article. It is my understanding that Webzen does plan to release Wiki in the US (and world wide for that matter) after it's release in Korea. There is not even a solid date set in the homeland (Webzen is a Korean company) yet ... but all of the other reports I have read and the information at their site indicates contrary to this article.

I'm not sure what they mean by the "game play is rooted in the east"... unless them mean overly repedative and overly challenging.

Actually, I've also played this game at e3. It IS coming out for the US (but just sooner that Korean release) and it is pretty challenging. The graphics make it seem like a kiddie/easy game but trust me, it's not. When I played I kept on constantly dying but the reason why is because people cycled through the demos and it was not resetted in a way so everyone could have potions and stuff to heal them. Everyone just played with the items left over from the last player which left the next playe with virtually, nothing. Also, There weren't and magic spells that could heal you (in the demo) but im positive there are some in the actual full game. I think the simple gameplay also makes it more open to new MMORPG Players and makes the gameplay faster for boths MMO Vets and noobs.

....I also still don't understand what that guy means about gameplay being rooted in the east... (???)

The rooted in the east thing is probably refering to the anime inspiredness of it all. Japan has a certain affinity for very destructive cute things [pokemon for instance.]
