Xbox 360 impressions: Moto GP '06

At the THQ area, they were proudly showing off their incredibly gorgeous Moto GP '06. This title shines bright and controls very well for the Xbox 360. Despite not even being played on a retail console, the demo was enough to satisfy my need for speed.
The staff was quick to note that the demo was only an 80% build, but even so, the polish and detail was nearly perfect. It was very fast and damn near as realistic as a racer can come. The only glaring fault was the initial loading time, but they assured me it was due to the lack of a retail system and the incomplete game.

Moto GP '06 is so realistic, it's almost annoying. You really have keep your speed in check, lest you slide off the track and take a spill head-first into asphalt or dirt. Of course, the remedy for this is a careful thumb and a deep appreciation for the nature of motorcycle racing.
They clarified that the 16-player demo will be hitting Xbox Live tomorrow as well. So limber up those thumbs, you won't be disappointed.

Yes!!! I am excited about this demo. I hope it will live up to the hype.

Does anyone know whether this is a 360 exclusive. Proberly not but just need to confirm.
Tourist Trophy
Moto GP
Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition
ATV Vs MX
List off the top of my head on how many bike racing franchises there are currently out now. Darm they need to make more because if it was car racing games, that would have gone up by twenty times atleast right now.
Anyone know if the Forza people are making a bike game?

OMG...a game that doesnt require me to move my arms up and down...side to side. Thank you MS. I appreciate that you understand I want to play a video game with a stationary controller. If I want to play the dance revolution games I will go to the arcade...
Wolfrain @ May 10th 2006 8:16PM
Cage:
Last time I checked both Nintendo and Sony's system both have support for the "classic" control system. I mean that Xbox 360 controller was a blatent rip of the Sony controller (all they did was reshape it and reposition the analogue and the d-pad) who copied Nintendo who copied god knows.
Stop trying to justify Microsoft missing out on a new concept of controling a game. I mean for godness sakes they already released a controller that detects motion control. Can't they just re-hash that as well just to say they are in the clib as well.

Danno @ May 10th 2006 8:32PM
Both of you! Stuff it. The important thing here is rubbing your thighs on the asphault in a 6g turn!
Mikeawesome @ May 10th 2006 8:50PM
TECHNICALLY motionsensitivity has been around for a while in controllers, Microsoft was using it on PC controllers as early as 1999, PC gamers didn't enjoy it so much, so it was dropped.
So maybe they all steal from each other, :O!
Oh, wait, that kind of is what they do, steal the concepts, however, in legality, they're completely safe as they work differently in some way.
As for Moto GP, I want to know if it's 16-Player online, that would be amazing.
Einhanderkiller @ May 10th 2006 9:01PM
Why does the road look so... big?
TheBlunderbuss @ May 10th 2006 9:09PM
The only thing Moto GP was good for was to change my XBox's name.
sqweak @ May 10th 2006 11:35PM
Realistic? you mean by including the manufacturers from motogp? oh, they're using fictitious manufacturers...wait you mean by including the actual tracks from motogp...none of those either, you *must* mean that the riding mechanics are realistic and will punish you for a stupid mistake like slaming on the brakes while in a full lean? oh, they didn't fix that either?
MotoGP with fake riders, fake bikes, fake tracks, and arcade control schemes are as realistic as non-licensed *ball sports games. I was really looking forward to MotoGP, but left the demo extremely disappointed.
JPRacer @ May 10th 2006 11:56PM
sqweak, I didn't play the demo of mgp 06, but I completly agree with you about mgp in general. mgp is a very unrealistic aracade racer and a big deception.
mgp 3 was the worse of the first 3, but are considered to be the best by people that absolutely don't know anything about racing or motorcycle...
It's sad for people that want a realistic racing sim.
Todd H. @ May 11th 2006 10:24AM
Hopefully they have my bike in this game, Yamaha 2006 YZF-R6.
FooAtari @ May 11th 2006 10:34AM
Um, MotoGP 2006 by THQ on the Xbox 360, as with the 3 Xbox games before it, uses the teams and riders from MotoGP.
While I dont think it is 100% realstic, it is in no way an arcade racer like Namco's MotoGP.
And if you slam the breaks on full lean, chanes are you will loose the front and indeed slide off the bike.
ANTO @ May 11th 2006 10:34PM
people this is not a sim on any level , to every real biker out there this thing is blasphemy. >:(
GWolf @ May 18th 2006 11:22PM
Make up your minds, do you want realism or fun. Just played the demo, looks great and plays challenging. A good game can be one or both, but simulations don?t appeal to everyone. If this upsets you stay away from the guy standing near the checkout counter who will put a gun to your head and force you to buy it.
