First Circle of Doom artwork unleashed

Developer Blue Side has gracefully decided to share some early and undeniably striking concept art for their forthcoming Xbox 360 sequel, Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom. Though the Kingdom Under Fire series failed to set retail charts on fire during its run on the original Xbox, vocal fans won't allow you to overlook the game's considerable critical success. The Xbox 360 version's main draw is its Xbox Live functionality, allowing up to 4 players to go on a hack 'n slash frenzy through dark fantasy lands, presumably populated by psychotic clown-men.

Upon seeing this image, Joystiq's Ross Miller says, "What...what kind of a game IS that?"

Jeebus... nightmares.
I think the problem with the KUF games is that there's just TOO much going on to manage. Taking care of the melee and strategy of just one squad is a challenge, but doing the whole multiple tactics and battle field awareness thing is a chore.
If they could make it co-op in such a way that each player took charge of one squad, I think it would see a lot more mainstream adoption.
I'd also like to see the RPG elements lessened a bit. There's too much to spend money and skill points on without enough information about what will help you perform best.
