Overheard at E3: You must have it in France
During a Warhammer: Mark of Chaos demonstration at Namco's obnoxiously loud booth:Developer: So, are you familiar with the Warhammer universe? It's very popular in the US, I'm sure you must have it in France.
Joystiq: Umm...France?
Developer: You mean Joystiq isn't based in France?
Weird. (We're actually based in Finland.)

There is a Joystick magazine in France, I guess the guy made a mistake when you say : "We are from Joystiq" if he is French...
Very good magazine (it used to be) but the website closed 4 years ago !
thojar @ May 11th 2006 3:49AM

Dan @ May 11th 2006 4:02AM
Well if you say joystick in a very bad French accent and then write it down it does look kinda like Joystiq. Well maybe...
Yshaana @ May 11th 2006 4:05AM
No, We have a very popular PC Magazine here in France that is calle "Joystick" and their console counterpart "Joypad". They are like the french "Edge" if you want.

If he was American, this could be explained by the way France/Finland/Sweden/Denmark/Austria/Germany/Luxembourg/Spain/UK are all the same thing over there, conveniently encapsulated by the term 'Europe'.
Shizzle @ May 11th 2006 4:54AM
It can't be the 'Q'? Because in French it would have to be 'Joystique' then ;)
SilverDogg @ May 11th 2006 4:57AM

Matt, if this was Slashdot, there would be 80 posts about MS. . err, sorry, M$ being behind this, and that if the developer had used Linux, he would know Joystiq is baesed in Mongolia.
Nill @ May 11th 2006 11:04AM
