The game will be exclusive to Nintendo's next-gen platform and will take advantage of the unique "free style" controller. No additional details were revealed, however.A motion sensing thriller with an RE twist? Count us in.

Wii us getting so much more major third party support than n64 or gamecube ever did at launch or 2nd generation, I'm frankly amazed.
And excited.

I wonder if this will be a whole new game or a modified 5. Either way I'll have to pick it up.

Hmmm. One wonders if this is, like #2 stated, a game in the series -- or a RE a la Crystal Chronicles. Either way...:]

siiiiick.
i was a little disappointed no RE5 for Nintendo, but this sounds ever better!
zombies + wiimote = scariest RE to date?

Just imagine how immersive and scary the speaker on the remote can be in a game like this. I won't be able to play it at night alone. I just won't. You're walking down a darkened hallway, and suddenly a deathly groan bursts from the remote. I might drop it and run.

Hmm.. I'm thinking 1st person view RE ala Gun Survivor games but with interactive puzzles and such.
Imagine some other ling, Going to open a door by actually doing the motion, As you turn the knob and open the door a little bit a hunter bursts through or something. It could really create a very immersive game expierence.

Well I know where Ill be playing my next Resident Evil at. And it sure as hell wont be on this system. Resident Evil as well as any survivor horror game deserves high def graphics and audio in the next generation. Not some funky controller.

who cares about graphics when the game is more fun?

So whats with the Resident Evil 5 screen for a Wii exclusive Resident Evil game?
Michael @ May 11th 2006 1:49AM
do they have any other info on this RE? or RE5 for that matter? i've yet to see any but thinking about some of the stuff it might do is cool, i can imagine not having a weapon at all and having to struggle with a zombie and literally puch it off of you or maybe grabbing a chair and bashing them with it. cant wait for RE

This is gonna be THE BEST PLAYING VERSION of RESIDENT EVIL on any platform!!! Worth the price of the Wii!!!
hohoho @ May 11th 2006 2:32AM

I'm so hoping this is like the House of the Dead arcade games - they rock so hard. Throwing a grenade like your would in real life whilst holding the Wiimote would be too cool.

I hope they call it "Resident Wiivil"...

RE4 on GC was enough to literally raise my heart rate (with a normal controller). Given that I smoke heavily, and drink a bit too, I think I'll stick to the 360 version. My heart can't take pulse-pounding action and Wii controller-dancing. :)
lol @ May 11th 2006 8:53AM
OMG! The crappy graphics and gimmicky controller are going to be SEW SCURY!!!
Manoel Balbino @ May 11th 2006 9:33AM
Resident Evil: Code Veronica was supposed to be an "off-series" RE, and it turned out to be one of the best ones (it can be considered the "true" RE4).
Also, the RE4 gameplay could work PERFECTLY with the new controller setup: just offload the aiming to the wiimote, and it's done. They could even allow the character to move while aiming that way (and could use the Z buttom to switch to strafe mode... well one can always dream).
Also, it will most certain look better than RE4: the RE4 engine already runs on Wii, without any extra coding needed. All they need to do is up the texture resolutions, turn on some anti-aliasing, add some extra bloom, some shaders here and there, and it's done.

I think RE4 on GCN looks pretty amazing to begin with. I've played the Xbox 360 kiosk games -- COD, PGR, King Kong -- but have been more impressed with RE4, but that has more to do with the environment created than actually resolution, textures, whatever.
What I'm trying to say is that if Capcom can create the same enviornment in a sequel, increase the graphics a bit, AND conpletely reinvent the gameplay once again, it should make for an amazing experience. No games has ever given me the creeps like RE4. I look forward to this next update in the series.

DG....
You've GOT to be kidding that RE looks better than COD2...LOL.. Yeh, in your DREAMS maybe.. I've got a 65" sony tv and COD2 in 720p has NO EQUAL.. and that my friend comes from some real PS2 diehard fans that cant believe their eyes (or ears-5.1 fibre surround sound)...LOL..
LOL.. You're funny....
Kaeru @ May 12th 2006 1:35AM
Kevin, you are a deuche. Call of Duty 2 hardly looks any better on 360 than any other console, it is a port! Does have great sound though.
There are so many better looking games and that is your choice for graphic prowess? For shame!
Surely there are 360 titles that out do RE4 graphically, but certainly not CoD2.
