Do they have a wii attachment so you can take a wii without leaving the game! That would be so sweet! I hate leaving the millionth version of Mario to go take a wii!

Obviosly 1&2 are sony fans,or well u can only feel sorry for them. Ps3 might have good graphics, but i think the 360's are slightly better due to ATI always having a better more solid look to the image than Nvidia.
That Ps1 controller, or sorry Ps3's, it looks the nearly is a rushed job trying to deflect attention away from Ninty. While later in the year i'm happily playing Wii & 360, those Ps3 owners will be contacting Sony trying to get their Blu-ray drives fixed.
Also the cheaper ps3 is a waste considering what they are offering at $600, the amount you get extra + HDMI port is worth alot more than $100. If Microsort can get a HD-DVD drive out for about $90 or less, i think Sony are in serious trouble.

Answer, scab- A wii. Now question for you-
Which would you rather have, a 600$ console with a crappy rip-off motion sensor and 60-70$ games, or a cheap console with good-xbox-game-quality graphics and a new comfortable and accurate controller?

You shoulda asked him what he thought of Spore.

That's should be the standard question to ask developers after you've gotten through all the more important questions from now on.

I'm not really a Sony fan- when Miyamoto referred to "Sony's little sensor" it made me think of South Park (Chinpokomon) and I had to laugh. I just couldn't remember the quote...

Sony's controller doesn't have a rumble feature and Nintendo's booth is th most popular booth at E3 so it seems that people would rather play with a Wii then a PS3 or Xbox 360 which just have better graphics.

how is the argument that Wii graphics are PS2 like when the Gamecube's graphics were better than the PS2 (just that not enough games were made to have really good graphics) MP1&2, RE4, etc... Wii is almost twice as powerful if the one IGN detailed a couple of weeks ago is true and final. Just not enough of the games were made and shown in the e3 floor to have really great graphics (2x).

Your HDTV question was a little unfair.

You rightly said it could add functionality: displaying more information and such, as some DS games do by taking advantage of the extra screen real-estate.

The problem with this is that NO GAME is currently allowed to DEMAND that the player has an HDTV. It wouldn't be very nice if you were suddenly at a play disadvantage on 360 and PS3 games because you couldn't make out something very small on the screen because you DIDN't shell out $1500 for a new TV. The situation would be even worse for any competitive online games. Imagine your opponent is better than you because he had $1500 laying about and you didn't? It hurts.

So really HDTV cannot be ALLOWED to make a difference to play until adoption is near 100%.

So maybe in 5-10 years time.

Until then, pay attention to the poorer among us, as NIntendo does.

It's such a shame. After reading such a great interview with a legendary video game developer, the first post I read is "would you rather play ps3 with amazing graphics and a motion sensor controller, or play with your wii(Laughs)." I wonder if 'scab' even read the interview. Oh well, it's not the first time idiots have plagued the internet with mindless bigotry.

That aside, I particularly loved Miyamoto's reference to the PS3 controller. He knows the little games Sony is playing, but he takes no offense to it and laughs it off, knowing that the Nintendo section of E3 has been packed constantly.

Also, even though Wii is significantly underpowered, Nintendo has already proved to me that video games can be visually beautiful without being technologically impressive. Metroid Prime 3 and Mario Galaxy impressed me far more visually than any of the CG movies I've seen for PS3 or X360. CG just doesn't impress me anymore. Watching in-game footage with impressive graphics despite low hardware specs, however, does.

Great interview joystiq with a great games designer, he is the only big cheese at any of the top three companies who doesn't talk in business cliches. You listen to Bill Gates, Peter Moore, Phil Harrison, Kutaragi they all sound like door to door salesmen who may as well be selling insurance rather than video games. Miyamoto is the only one who talks with real passion to real gamers in a way we can all relate to. Whether or not you like nintendo is irrelevant, anyone can see that they are the company who is making the boldest steps to push the industry forward and make it the mass market media it deserves to be. This will benefit everyone - games players, games creators and games sellers. My only fear is that in the modern world we live in people are mindless followers of the adage of bigger faster stronger and shell out for sony's new beast without even thinking. I really hope that nintendo succeeds in proving that the experience of playing is the key rather than just the allure of prettier graphics. I for one don't want to be playing yet another WWII 1st person shooter in another 40 years time that has exactly the same control system but more realistic looking textures. I want something new.

You had some good questions in there, but the answers are soooo boring. Why is it that all of the Nintendo-people talk about the same topics 24/7? No matter what you ask, he always comes back to expanding the gamer democraphic, new types of gameplay etc. Basically the same stuff we have heard for years, and he repeats it, repeats it, repeats it and repeats it. And it's BORING.

I thought Miyamoto had a little more interesting stuff to say. Leave the marketing talk to the marketing guys ffs.

Firstly, the Wii's graphics are better than the GameCubes graphics, therefor the comment someone made about them being the same as PS2 graphics is completey ridiculous. As someone else pointed out, the GameCube had far better graphics than the PS2, but just didn't have the right games to show them off that often.

Secondly, I don't think the adoption of High Definition televisions will be anywhere near 100% within the next 5 years (probably not even 10). There are a lot of people in this world who still have black and white TV's. In fact, some people just aren't even interested in having a TV. I know of quite a few people who have sold theirs, so they can't use it as an excuse to sit around "doing nothing".

BTW - How do the comment stars work anyway? I never bothered to figure it out. I see people's ratings, but can't rate their comments. I'm guessing since most people's rating is "0" then I'm not the only one who had ignored this feature up until now.

So in response to scab. Would i rather play the plageris-station3 that is no longer and inovator, but a struggling to keep up with the edge of gaming consol? Or sorry, it was more about graphics, well let me think. Would i prefere to play a consol that looks photo-realistic, and makes you drool over the landscapes, but when u play it you realise its devoid of gameplay. No im a gameplay fan all the way. Hence, Wii will rock you all the way, in everyway.

The plagarism station 3 won't make it very far. All it has done is taken the ideas of Microsoft and Nintendo and tried to put them together, with very little success. In the end they have a very expesive system with technology that will need to be fixed on the release day. I don't see them doing very well this Christmas simply because of price.

I really don't think the PS3 will do badly, in fact I think it will still sell more units than the Wii, but that doesn't mean that nintendo can't win, eh?
I mean, the PS2's sold 5 times as much as the Wii.
So if this round, the Wii would sell about as many units as the Ps3, wouldn't that already be a massive success? And i think it's gonna sell that many!
Oh and on topic, scab is a fucking moron

At school the other day, I asked 9 other kids who I know are into Gaming. I asked them, "Would you rather buy PS3, or something with less graphical power, but with MUCH, MUUUCH better games?"

All of them picked the PS3.

Poor scab man! I hope he has more looks than brains. I guess sony fans out there must feel like some of us N fans when gamecube came out. I have to say I knew sony had what it took with the ps2 to take the console market back in the day but it's a new war now. If the longest lines at E3 to play the wii or any game console in e3 history don't impress you then I guess you lack common sense. I guess if xbox and sony come out and compliment nintendo on the wii and you still can't see how impressive it is, than you must lack common sense. I guess if you can't see the wii taking the internet and other media by storm without even knowing much about it you lack common sense. Did anyone read the time magazine about the 5 products that will blow your mind. The nintendo Wii was one of those products. Not xbox 360 that was the hot new console to buy for christmas and not ps3. I will give credit to ps3 for it's pretty graphics but come on technology is about innovation and if you can't see that nintendo has it then you lack common sense. Last but not least to all you sony fans. If xbox could have been more established in the japan market they would have taken sony because the xbox in my opinion was innovative because it was the first system to have a hard drive and they got the ball rolling for online gaming. That is comming from the mouth of a diehard nintendo fan. The facts are there is common sense dead or is everyone just getting dummber anymore. oh and by the way hats off to the man who created Zelda. Give credit where credit is due

Eh, arguing over the internet is like.. shit, who cares.
Microsoft XBOX doing it's PC-all-over-the-internet-connected thing
Sony PS3 looking for luxury-media-center-image
and
Nintendo Wii ... hell, they finally didn't forget what gaming is meant to be.

But as we're (hopefully) individuals and have different tastes it's up to you to choose the type of games you want to play.
No matter how much they cost - in three years they're all outdated and you're better off with a high-end PC, heh
