Great multiplayer action with some fun twists. The game is an intense first-person shooter where, in some locations, you can walk on walls and ceilings; the effect does not feel gimmicky, and adds to the level design. The weapons are what you'd expect from the game, and it played very smoothly with no loss in framerate. The graphics are what you would expect from a second-generation 360 game, with great lighting and shadow effects.
Prey will not reinvent the wheel, but it is very fun and gorgeous.

yeah but can it de-throne Halo 2 as the only game worth playing on Xbox Live?
Cage @ May 11th 2006 6:26PM
Sounds like you dont have Xbox Live vadermaggot. There are plenty of other games worth playing...excluding all EA games, GRAW, PGR3...list goes on but I guess you wouldnt know. Gears of War is the next best thing so put that on your mythical radar (since I really dont think you even have an Xbox better yet a 360)Stick to Nintendo and your old graphics like every other fanboy in here.

Nope, number 1 is right, best game on 360 and xbox for Mplayer is halo.
Spec @ May 11th 2006 6:45PM
The game looks great, I'm anxious to give it a shot. As far as Halo 2 being the only game worth playing, n3g. Just because it's the only game people play doesn't make it the only game worth playing. As addictive as the game is, it runs horribly, lag is a constant issue regardless of your connection, cheating is rampant and the players are morons.
Cage is right, just go pick up -any- other XBL game and log on and it's probably a better play if you can find anyone. Halo: CE on the other hand, still a fun play.

Damnit dsoes everything "next gen" according to Microsoft (and possibly Sony so as to be fair) have to be so f*cking shiny?
Seriously, enough is enough! Tell the developers to lay off pressing the "rub more vaseline on it" button.
Look at that guys hands. Look at it!
Theres no way in hell a stick, or concrete or cotton or skin can be that friggin reflective.
I would rant on more, but my eyes are hurting from looking at the new radioactive graphics.
Seriously, shiny is good. But this is gamma-ray overkill.
(please, Lord don't make Halo 3 spacemetal-iPod-(enriched)uranium-moonshine-glowing shiny)

kye have u seen this game play? he hand is shiny because the arrow and bow are glowing bright white.he has many other weapons where it was much better and the whole concept of how u die is great. i watched this game played on g4tv last night very nice looking graphics and if u have a 360 and find thinbgs are 2 shiny check ur video setting lol. evrything looks great on mine and canlt wait to get my hands on this game
mirobin @ May 11th 2006 9:08PM
Kye, you're not looking at shiney. You're looking at bloom and HDR lighting. And metal (which is shiney).
SID SPACE @ May 11th 2006 11:43PM
Kye, I completely agree with you.
It seems like too many 360 games are ridiculously shiny. The surfaces in Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo, Oblivion, and FarCry all have an unnatural sheen to them and it appears that both Gears of War and Prey are going the same route. Bloom and HDR lighting or not, skin and brick walls should not be creating a glare on my TV screen.
I thought these next-gen visuals were supposed to be realistic, instead they just look fake and manufactured.
DJJoeJoe @ Jun 28th 2006 8:15PM
HDR lighting, perplex mapping and a host of other technics ARE realistic... just because you're used to having flat textures on flat walls doesn't mean the world is that way. Also, look at the real world, it's far more boring then you'd care to want in any game... seriously. The real world is full on super bland visuals... nothing you'd ever want in a game.
