Well, I mean BK1 wasn't the best game, horrid voice acting aside. The card battling system was unique and engaging but could also get a little tedious. I don't think I want to meet the person who could sit through and create all the card combo cards too >_O

But it sad ol' GC is getting the snub when it still has a pulse.

Yes! I loved the first Baten Kaitos. The card system was really fun and I liked trying to arrange 6 card combos. Making sure elements lined up right and the card numbers were in sequence was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, it looks significantly simplified in te screenshots i've seen.

It figures, the Gamecube starts getting some real nice games again and yet's forgotten. Oh well, they'll add nicely to my Wii :).

Haha, this is exactly what nintendo think of you.
Thier 'loyal' fans, or maybe in the nintendo headquarters, your all called idiots.
Nintendo fans get shafted, seriously, as soon as thier done taking your money shifting you some crap games and taking your $200 for a poor conosle, as soon as thier's a chance to cut the ropes, your GONE, they move on. WOW just look at the support for ps2, thats what i like, supporting your mchine not trying to FORCE peole to move to next or new gen, when really its the same crap, diffrent controls, unlike sony, knowing you have an obligation to your consumers, but no, not nintendo fans, their happy bieng given the worse console in history with dire 3rdparty support, hell even crap 1st party support, then the glimpse of hope, thier glimse of possible fun, zelda TWW, is basically given to wii, but dont worry enjoy playing the same console with a diffrent remote. if you look at nintendos confrence its all about the causal gamers, no it isnt even about them, its about tapping into this new market, iwata what about your current fans what about thier suppo.... iwata saya : 'F**K them' they dint buy our crappy machine, now lets get whole new crowd, as they try and say this is fun, when really its wiitarded. if nintendo really cared about any of thier fans they would have put thier wii mote on the gamecube, but instead thier making you buy the same console with a diffrent control mechanism. thats not worth $10 never mind $200.

but dont worry tell yourself how great they are, after all now you have snake to play on SSBros brawl, hah, like thats gonna make the game any good.

um... Forget Nintendo, while your post sounds great and all... you really picked a lousy location to write it. Nintendo is abandoning their console... in a topic about new games for their old console. Did you miss the posts about the new Paper Mario, Donkey Kong and the one you actually posted in? I think you need to calm down. Take a deep breath, realize that we're just talking about games here and enjoy the goods that appear from E3.

What support for the PS2? I own a PS2 and a GC and have a whole 4 games for the PS2 (not counting my GF's Singstars). I used to have Splinter Cell and GTA as well, but they were so damn boring I threw them out. Ico looks interesting, but I haven't seen much else.
For my GC, on the other hand, I have so many games I haven't had time to play them all, plus a list of new ones to buy.

Forget Nintendo is a troll, and has no idea what he is ranting about. He is off topic, only has half a point(Gamecube has less games...arguably better quality...but less in total), and about a dozen fanboy rants. Don?t feed him.

As for Baten Kaitos? I wouldn?t care if you could plug the game into your head, I still wouldn?t be exited about it. "card-battling RPG" isn?t exactly a genre I would spend my time playing.

BK1 is awesome. Too bad they simplified the card system. If they had only gotten rid of the time limit on picking a card on offense, it would have been GREAT!

Aqua BURST! Aqua BURST!!! Dark FLARE! Aqua BURST!
God those english voices were terrible, but the game was pretty good. (reminded me of star ocean 2 in that respect)
Never got around to beating the game after i finished the first disk... Maybe i should.

I'm already playing BKII in the Japanese version and it's really great. :) If you liked part I, you will also like part II.
Japanese voice acting is much better than the English one. ;)

Baiten Kaitos was a good game in much the same way that Grandia III is a good game. Excellent battle system. I'm not fond of card battle systems usually (even though I play CCGs), but this one is very well done.

The story was much better than Grandia III's also. Most of the rest of the game mechanics were pretty weak though, and while the combining cards aspect was a good idea, it wasn't properly realized, in my opinion. Also the difficulty was a trifle low, but not as bad as some recent RPGs I've played.

I'm definitely interested in the sequel, but the idea that they've simplified the battle system is not encouraging. That was easily the best part of the game.

Mostly i look out for rpg games, nintendo seem to know how to make more engrossing games. Dissapointed that beaten kaitos 2 is gonna be before the events of the first one. Cause it wont seem as climatic due to the events of the prior. Didnt put the voice on anyway, just read it and listened to the music.

If you havent completed Baiten Kaitos 1 than you owe it to yourself to finish it, it has some very and I cant emphasize the "VERY" enought twists and turns on the second disk, definitely an 8.5 out of 10 rated game, definitely.

great news. one of the cube trifectas (Tales, BK, and Skies of Arcadia). BK had a great battle system. My GF raced thru it and I'll finish it soon as I get thru Tales. We both can't wait for the sequel.
