Paris Hilton creates a mob scene [update 1]

While we wouldn't exactly call ourselves fans of the hotel heiress, we have to admit that we were still intrigued by the idea that Paris Hilton would be making an appearance at E3 to promote a new game with her name splashed all over it: Paris Hilton's Jewel Jam. We stopped by the Gameloft booth to see it all go down. Er, you know what we mean.
Paris was scheduled for her appearance at 2:00 PM, but when we walked by her spot in front of Gameloft at 12:30, there was already a line of fans waiting to get her autograph. Media was at least three deep in front of the ropes. Most of the media mob were there for Paris though, not for E3. Entertainment crews wanted a shot of her before she was to be whisked away to a launch party in Bel-Air for Roberto Cavalli's new line of designer vodka. ESPN was there because Paris Hilton is dating Matt Leinart.
The display on the wall showed the game, called Jewel Jam. When we asked the PR firm about the game, they didn't know how it worked. An entertainment reporter next to me asked the PR Firm if they could get a shot of the box that the game comes in. He said he would check on it. Was it mean of me to not let them know that Jewel Jam is a mobile game?
For some reason, the event staff had to call in about a dozen of the LAPD for support. A couple of Joystiq-ers mentioned that they were re-directed on their tour of South Hall because Paris needed a 100-ft radius of clear space around her.
She showed up almost an hour after her scheduled appearance. She said whispered a few words like "Hello" and "Thank you," into the microphone and that's about it. Oh yeah, and apparently, she didn't read the wall behind her that said the name of her game is Jewel Jam.
We snapped a few photos then went off to more interesting things around the West Hall. Like Nintendo.

I'm workin' at the PH game at Gameloft. And now it's not called anymore Jewel Jam but Paris Hilton's Diamond Quest (the final name is not sure). The scope of this game is to create combos (>3 gems) to explode..

I saw her live in Ischgl / Tyrol 2 weeks ago where she promoted a Prosecco drink in a can . . .. although she always attracts a lot of people (even over here), she is definitely one thing - overrated.
can't wait to her songs from her album - sure worth some couple of laughs :)

Am I the only one that finds her face unappealing? I mean, aside from the vacant stare, skanky aura, and makeup you could scrape off with a quarter, I just don't think she's a pretty person. Maybe it's just her cheeks and jaw line... Not that I'm saying she's ugly, but I wouldn't date her even if she were some random girl on the street. (I definitely wouldn't touch her as the celeb she is now.)

Has there been any media coverage of E3 because of her appearance, or were the ones there already going to be doing the show anyways?
On a sidenote, how do you people (who are flaming Paris) justify acting that way? Can you honestly say that if you had a audience of thousands in front of you, and you were giving your opinion of her in front of them, that would say/act the same way? Would you be screaming your CAPS?
I think if you did, a large portion of the people would think you were insane. Or had anger issues. Or something.
I'm not trying to defend what she's done (and I don't pretend to even know most of it, I'm one of those Canadian's nobody cares about). Some of you act like the pornography tape she made is worse than other celebrities who may have done so as well. Just because she profited off its release, well maybe they were just going to release it anyways.
But besides that, I'd say it's safe to say we've all done things that we're not very proud of. To paraphrase: how about instead of trying to take the speck out of her eye, you work on getting the plank out of yours.

The reason people hate her isn't that she's an idiot or she's a whore, but more of the fact that she lives a life of privilege and does nothing to deserve it. She does no charity work, much like most rappers. She does nothing to help others, and with the million upon millions of dollars her family has, she spends her time sleeping with as many men as possible, and being a complete retard. She's one of the worst examples of an American that have ever walked the Earth. She proved this when she couldn't remember the name of her own game, something that would get anyone else in the torn a new asshole, but because its Paris Hilton, people are gonna let it slide.

I beleive most people dislike her because shes a self made/bought celebrity, mostly making herself famous and appealing by use of her (parent's) money and not through any skills of her own (acting, modeling, etc.) I know thats why I dislike her, at least :)
Is it just me of is really into video game media events? She's been photo'd with PSP, DS, xbox 360... I'm almost certain she'll be seen with a ps3 launch console later this year. Are the companies paying her or does she enjoy shiny electroncs or (gasp) gaming itself?
