Joystiq won't let Tim Buckley cut in line
Tim Buckley's Ctrl+Alt+Del comic strip has a pretty massive following. So it's an honor, really, that Tim gave us a little nod in his E3 recap comic. As many of you have pointed out, one of the guys standing in line for the Wii is wearing our new T-shirt.According to our calcultions, the distance from Los Angeles to the Utah border is approximately 380 miles. There are 5,280 feet in a mile, and the average person in line took up around 2-1/2 feet of breathing room, resulting in approximately 802,600 attendees* in front of us waiting in line for the Wii. So yeah, sorry Tim, we weren't going to let you in -- we had been waiting in line since Wyoming.

(Update: Corrected spelling of Tim's name; although the paraprax "Time" could still be accurate ... sort of.)

Was wondering if there is a post somewhere where we can upload pictures of ourselves (those who where fortune enough to get one) showing of our JoyStiq t-shirts! i realise that one of the Joystiq contributors is from Cambridge,UK. i gagging for her to catch me out with it :P

Why wouldn't you let him cut? I thought you guys were cool :(
mercatfat @ May 15th 2006 2:07PM
Because his comic is deriative and hinges almost entirely on soft targets and ultraviolence?
(Sorry, not trying to troll. It just had to be said at some point.)

sry this has nothing to do with the topic but i just read that spore

sweetness
he said it was coming out

The irony of course was watching Vladamir Cole cut in front of everyone Friday morning before the show started after failing to get the security person to let him in early with his media badge.

At first I thought this was a very good web comic, but then I took this link to their site. Not only is their E3 recap strip stupid, pointless, and anything but funny, the one before it is even worse. That mac commercial parody? How pathetic. Again, what is funny about this stuff? Dick Cheney can probably tell jokes better than these people. Was the point of that mac joke to demonstrate how little those guys know about computers? Someone should tell them that computers do more than just run video games.

Haha great analysis of the line. In fact, I've got a video of that long line...check my blog for the vid (see vids 21 and 22) and what the people waited in line for!

@ # 6.
Are you kidding me? CAD Comics rocks he have a great sense of humor, i guess you just read the last two comics, he has a storyline there with Ethan, Lucas, Lilah etc ....
Why you guys are such negatives sometimes.
mercatfat @ May 15th 2006 3:13PM
When the strip tries to make an intelligent humor bit, I find that it is kind of like a 4th-generation VHS copy of a movie. The original movie/joke started out fine, then got diluted, then got a little messy, then got unfocused and damn near unwatchable by the time it reached the internet.
I'm not even going to get into "random" or "instant comedy" humor, as it goes by.

#6, if you had bothered to look further you would see this post by Tim Buckley regarding the Mac comic: http://cad-comic.com/news.php?i=1104 (It's the third one on that page)

I just received my MEDIUM sized joystiq shirt and boy is it LARGE. Should have gone with a small, but most of the time mediums are just right. Ah well, now I have a really awesome gaming nightie to wear. Joystiq Medium T-Shirt, for those days you wanna roll outta bed and game...and not go outside all day. I just wanted to wear it ouside with pride, but cotton t-shirt mumu's aren't "hip" in Brooklyn (yet). Maybe I can turn the tide. Seriously though, the shirt is really really cool. Thanks.

Hey, I kinda like CAD, but Tim has been accused of ripping off material a few times. Most vocal are the Aussies behing 'Bigger Than Cheeses'. They have some serious hate on for Tim. See a couple of examples below:

Perry Bible Fellowship is the best comic on the net, although rarely about gaming. This one is though...

Has Tim exposed himself to any underaged girls recently?
