Too bad no Sony reps were humble enough for this. I would have liked to see Phil Harrison with the Joystiq T-shirt, if not Kaz Hirai (Unlikely), Ken Kutaragi (Less likely than Kaz) nor Howard Stringer (Least likely of all).

Where is Reggie?

Coming home from college on saturday night, it was one of the first things I checked out. Even decided to wear it today through my unpacking and job orientation.

I do like the orange shirts better, but hell- I'm not one to complain... I'll be sporting this thing until my metabolism kicks out or the art peels away.

The new shirt rules, although I was expecting more recognition of it. Sadly, no one at my school mentioned a word about it :(

Completely off-topic:

How do you view the streaming vids posted on joystiq? I downloaded quicktime 7.0, but all I get is a Q picture with a ? over it.

Help?

Got my shirt a few days ago and love it. The orange/blue on black is a great color scheme, and even my wife (non-gamer) thinks it's cool. The only thing I would've liked better is a silk screened shirt (for longevity) but I'm totally pleased.
$15 well spent.
BTW - An update as to how you guys did cash wise and where the money is headed would be great. I love feeling good about myself as a gamer and breaking the stereotypes out there.

got mine a few days ago in the mail. The first day I wore it out in public and I was recognized by two random people who happend to be gamers. At first they thought I worked for joystiq, but I quickly told them I just bought the shirt. When wearing this shirt in public it's sort of an instant flag that you are a serious gamer. Those who aren't really into it don't know what joystiq is, and those who do know it instantly. I'll admit though, if the same sort of celebrity like attention follows me around with this shirt, I may not wear it as much. The damn thing is like a nerd magnet. Not exactly what I want to be attracting when I'm out in public if you know what I mean.

Anyways, it's a cool shirt, and I feel special for having one of only a few hundred.

good to see nintendo and microsoft represented.

have you guys tried getting anyone from sony interviewed? i think we've all got way more unanswered questions for sony than either of those two companies. im sure we ALL have questions. whats up with upgrading that missing HDMI port? wheres my vibration? need i go on? bribe em with the shirt! lol!

for some reason i feel like miyamoto is the most likely to actually wear it in public. what do you think?

I wasn't able to make it to E3 this year (outta work for 6 weeks now, flat broke), so I asked one of my buddies who works for IGN to get one of those E3 shirts for me.

But he couldn't get to you in time. (He was in a meeting.) :(

Yes, we asked Sony for interviews. I don't think they were doing much press this year. Bet they're kicking themselves in the ass now they realize they would've gotten some free shirts. Phil, Kaz, call me. We'll work something out! ;)

dsub: Gave one to my girlfriend and she got noticed several times already just going around town. I haven't worn mine outside E3 yet ... it needs to be washed a couple times if you catch my scen... err, drift.

Got mine in the mail a few days ago. Personally, I preferred a lot of the other designs in the running. I feel this design is a bit too big, but that's just because I like smaller designs on my shirts. The controller-headed robot was just awesome. Maybe next year...

Miyamoto better watch out with the Wii hand signs, especially in LA. He could be mistaken for a "3-2 Crew" thug, and I know he ain't on their turf right there.

Oh, and the Irony of this T-Shirt is that, even when no PS rep is using it, i.e. only Non-Sony reps using it, the T-shirt is based on "Katamari", a PlayStation exclusive game (At least, as of now).

Miyamoto, Kim, and Moore I can understand, nut Perrin?!? What the hell does a corporate motto machine deserve a shirt for? I saw her defending the "Wii" name on TV, and was so disappointed by the fact that all she did was regurgitate the corporate propaganda sheet given to her. Nintendo could do a better job justifying itself by just putting up a single photo of Miyamoto, instead of allowing Perrin to do the whole windbag interview routine.

BTW... Sony didn't get one? LOL! Too bad. I thought for sure they'd bring their price back down to substratospheric levels (for you, at least) just to get a free shirt and seem cool with the bloggers, but I guess they're happy with their "Fanboys only" console in it's present state. Oh, well...

Answers for your questions:

"BTW - An update as to how you guys did cash wise and where the money is headed would be great."

We're still waiting on a final bill from the vendor we used for the shirts. This vendor provided not just the shirts, but also fulfillment, and fulfillment isn't complete until one last shirt that was sent out and returned is finally sent to the right address. We'll make a post once everything's settled.

"have you guys tried getting anyone from sony interviewed?"

We tried repeatedly. Honestly, Nintendo and Microsoft were simply far more accessible at E3 this year. Both Nintendo and Microsoft granted our requests for interviews. We had a Reggie interview lined up, but he wasn't able to make it, unfortunately.

"by the way, why don't you guys print more of the other Joystiq t-shirts, the Godzilla ones? i am sure you could sell plenty more (me included)"

Because we promised that we would print only 200. We will not print more, even though we're certain we could sell more. The idea was to create a limited run to reward loyal readers.

When we create the 2007 shirt, we'll do another limited run, but we'll make sure that readers in all time zones have an opportunity to get one. This year, the shirts sold out in under 8 hours.
