If I'm not mistaken, Will Wright has already confirmed a DS version of Spore. The story was on Joystiq sister site DS Fanboy no less.

Spore will be one of those games that comes out for every possible platform imaginable, just like the sims did. To think that just about everything won't be getting spore is fanboy'ism, done and done.

This game would be pretty awesome on Live Anywhere. Manage your colony on your cell phone, PC, xBox 360. Maybe MS could build some hooks with Nintendo to expand the network. A gaming internet. It would be nice.

The thing is, David, a Wii version of Spore could be especially faithful to the PC because of the controller and because of the Connect24 service.

Here's a question, though. Sure, spore will be released on multiple platforms, but how many of these platforms will make use of Spore's unique 'multi-user darwinism' aspect?

WW said in the 40 min. spore preview on Joystiq that the game would automatically upload and download user creations, and incorporate them into the game. Will a PS3 player be able to download a Wii user's creatures?

I certainly hope so. I for one envision myself creating a fearsome, horrible monster race...and sending it to your house to eat your stupid "space hippies".

If only Live Anywhere and the Wiimote would accidentally start working together and cause a chocolate-in-my-peanut-butter stroke of genius... what?

I'm kind of looking forward to Spore, but I know I'll rarely, if ever, get beyind the creature editor. That's all I'll be interested in, to be completely honest.

The rest of it sounds cool as all hell, but I don't have the patience to get that far in a sandbox game - I've never even bothered with anything mission-related in Rollercoaster Tycoon.

I'd be more excited about Spore if this wasn't the second year in a row it wasn't playable at E3.

Just to comment on his Wii controller concern. Since the controller can detect how close it is to the sensor (and with that the TV) it probably wouldn't be difficult for developers to simply have a check for that and adjust the sensitivity accordingly while the game is playing. Problem solved as far as I know.

All platforms?

Not enough, I want more! How about downloadable podcasts of my Spore civilization doing nothing in particular? Oh and I'd like a primordial ooze aquarium on my TV. And for Xmas, I'd like my cell phone to be like Ghostbuster's gear and suck up creatures from other people or from interesting locations then dump them at home, when I wish.

Yes yes, all platforms please.

From what I gathered from watching a few interviews with WW, the game will incorporate other people's creations but will not necesarilly by multiplayer. In other words, it will be a "Massively Singleplayer Online Game". I could be wrong though.

Even if Spore only came out as a board game... I'd buy it. I cant wait for this game.

Oh and #3... That was funny. "I'm a whore for spore."

I'm stealing your quote.
But I think that Spore will be better than Superman, Oreos, and sex combined.

It's a no brainer: EA is publishing it. They'll make sure it's ported to everything they can.

Is it some kind of sign that one of the best and most creative designers of all time is a supporter of the Wii and DS?

"EA is publishing it. They'll make sure it's ported to everything they can."

That's what I'm worried about. EA will also make sure each platform gets a marginally different game, even though they don't have to. "Oh, but The Sims for PS2 is true 3D." "Oh, but The Sims 2 for PS2 has this added crap." "Oh, but look how we changed character interaction on The Sims for DS."

If the games are that different across platforms, I'll be sad, especially for the portables. It seems like it'd be the ultimate virtual pet - designed by the DNA from the ground up to your specs, customizable at any time, able to conquer the universe. TAKE THAT PIKACHU MUAHAHAHA

EAT IT TAMAGOTCHI

OMG Will Wright hit the nail on the head, I totally was talking on voice chat and mentioned the fact that it just won't be that precise if you're back on the couch. Another big problem is the RESOLUTION of the standard Wii games, it's going to all feel like a clunky PC setup unfortunately. Oh well peace.

This game seems like an obvious choice for both the DS and Wii. I can't wait. I only hope I have enough money after buying a Wii, two Zelda games, two Mario games, Super Smash, and Red Steele. Who am I kidding? I won't have enough.
