Has anyone played the demo yet? Is it worth downloading?
Dread @ May 17th 2006 11:30AM
Yes. The demo was good. I only played the single player part.
From what I heard, much better than the first multiplayer demo they released.
I am looking forward to this title.

Jon Van Caneghem doesn't have anything to do with the game, right?

The Demo is good, worth downloading I think. It has two fairly easy campaigns and one really easy skirmish (1v1). I'm planning on picking it up sometime next month (games never arrive on time where I live), as well as a few friends of mine. If the online multiplayer is good, this game will keep us all entertained for a long time.
I think my favorite part of the the HOMM franchise is playing with friends on a custom built scenario. Some of the fans of the game that created scenarios did really good jobs, and I hope they make a lot of custom maps for HOMM5

Wow. I just downloaded the story trailer and...wow...just wow. That was...that was...f***ing terrible. I'm sure this series has lots of fans, but please tell those fans that while this game is called HoM&M V, it should really be called "wants to be Warcraft 2.5"
Seriously, the CG and gameplay and graphics in general are clearly a step back from Warcraft 3. The CG animation was not very good at all, with especially stiff movement in the human characters. Then there's the dialog: too stupid for words. And did that woman say "negosate" instead of "negotiate"?
The people who made this game should have found out who did the CG for Warcraft 3. That is some of the best CG work I've ever seen in a video game, and this video just makes me hope even more that one day Blizzard makes a Warcraft 4. I'm not a WoW fan.
