Online bakery sim heading to PC
Anyone interested in the success of online titles may do well to watch Cake Mania, a downloadable puzzle game set in a bakery. Developer eGames, Inc has partnered with Sandlot Games to bring this online game to retail outlets.Apparently spurred on by its online popularity, the boxed version will feature new levels. Lars Batista of eGames claims that Cake Mania "strikes the perfect balance" between "fun and educational" -- however, we doubt running a bakery is much like the clean-cut cartoony world of this game.

I love this game! I would buy the boxed version because of the extra levels and hopefully a bit extra difficulty. At first I was lured in by the pretty colors and cute graphics but it was actually pretty challenging at times. I beat the online version in one day. There I go bragging again.

Absolutely, someone put this on the XBLA fast, please :D
Seems to be very similar to the game Yoshinoya Beef Bowl.

Well, at least my girlfriend cares about this. That makes one, do we have any more than that?

I remember a game like this on the NES... Burger Time? I loved running from wieners and such then spraying them with salt if i were surrounded. It was fun. I wonder how this game will be like? *cough*
soniCron @ May 18th 2006 5:16AM
I don't understand why this is newsworthy? There are tons of previously online-only casual games being sold in retail. Bejeweled, Chuzzle, Collapse... This has been going on for a long time -- why bring it up now?
soniCron @ May 18th 2006 5:20AM
And, incidentally, it's already on the PC (it's a downloadable game), and it isn't a "sim" in even the loosest sense of the term.

"Developer eGames, Inc has partnered with Sandlot Games to bring this online game to retail outlets."
I think that should be the other way around. Sandlot Games was the deveolper and eGames is going to publish it.

Isn't this game only a copy of that game for Atari called Pressure Cooker or something? It's funny how people completely forgot about the Atari days and now are copying these games... Cake Mania, Raid Over the River... I don't understand why activision didn't sued this people yet.
Jean Bernstein @ May 18th 2006 10:23PM
May be you should be sued for not properly using the english grammar
