We have to thank our readers for picking our absolute favorite webcomic this week. Steve Napierski of Dueling Analogs deserves a round of applause for showing some artistic merit and creativity in using The Last Supper to recreate the cheat code of old (which, if you haven't noticed, is portrayed by the hands of all characters in the picture).

Second place goes to VG Cats' love-hate relationship with Nintendo and third can be claimed by Penny Arcade and their look at E3's Kentia All-Stars. Thanks to everyone who voted, and be sure to let us know (via comments below, preferably) of any game-related webcomic you stumble upon this week!

#5 Correction: It's the most famous. Any gamer worth his salt knows the Konami code. As for myself, I've got it eternally memorized along with 007-373-5963 (the password needed to jump directly to Mike Tyson) and Justin Bailey.

I played it at E3. I'm a Contra fan and have to say they blew it. Don't bother. The comic is one of the best ever though!

This is the kind of cleverness webcomics need.

I believe those are sign language for "a" and "b" or vice versa... depending on the game/console etc.

Lupos #15, Sign Language isn't console specific.

The closed fist is A, the open hand is B.

The Konami Code comic was definitely awesome. Just have to say "well done" and tip the hat.

I didn't until this comic (but then, i'm probably-not- worth-my-salt? where'd you get that expression?!?!?).

And i've been a gamer for too little time.

And the term "worth his salt" comes from ancient Rome. A clue would be the fact that "Salary" comes from the latin word for salt.

I'm still young enough to get carded at bars and restaurants, but I suddenly feel so old. Been gaming since the Atari 400 and IBM PC AT.

For those of us that played the 2 player version it was, "Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start (to advance to the title screen), Select (2 players) Start (the game).
I would also be interested in a shirt version of this.

In that VG Kats comic what the hizzy is the "Time Square Left," ??? Is that a typo, I mean seriously, google it! Is that supposed to be "TimeS Square" the Nintendo hardware codename? Where does the "left" come from. I am so confused. The winning comic is great. AND WHAT THE HELL WAS WRONG WITH NAVI??? She was adorable.

I believe they meant "the time SQUARE (the company) left Nintendo to develop for Sony."

AH HAH! WELL THIS PROVES THAT ALL-CAPS IS MORE THAN A STYLISTIC DECISION IN COMICS.

Dueling Analogs was easily the best of that week.

But I hardly think VG Cats can be justified as #2... It just wan't funny, or made sense.

#26: The comic was updated on 06052006. Before the conferences. (additionally, VGCats does seem to have a little bias against "Potatomato", but that's prob just me)

CTMV-W26K-R5KN-SIBK is my favorite cheat code, but it really isn't a cheat per se, it the continuation of a Castlevania II game, with all Drac's parts and all weapons.

I would love this as a T-Shirt, or a wall hanging.

And FYI, the phrase, "Worth his salt," is a refernce to when Roman soldiers were paid in salt.
