Guitar Hero alongside bands at Download UK

There's something about playing Guitar Hero that appeals to the exhibitionist in all of us. This year, the UK's Download Festival will cater to that by allowing Guitar Hero players to take to the Third Stage in between acts -- although there will be limited walk-up opportunities, they'd like you to register in advance.This might not seem like quite such a good idea when fifteen consecutive rockers fail to finish Bark at the Moon on expert, as events like this often lead us to overstretch ourselves in an attempt to show off. However, it's a clever marketing move for RedOctane as well as a great chance to break some of gaming's stereotypes -- or at least the one about us all being self-conscious tone-deaf nerds.

Ah, but it's not RedOctane anymore, it's Activision.
Sadly, RedOctane couldn't distribute or market worth a damn.

Ooooh, I see Bullets and Octane on that lineup... what would be really sweet would be if those guys got into Guitar Hero 2; a more rockin' band has not existed for years. They could even make a thing out of it; Bullets and Octane, Red Octane...

People think I'm a tone deaf nerd? Ouch. I'm not tone deaf. I can play the French Horn pretty well...wait, I AM a nerd! The world I have so carefully crafted has come crashing down! I feel so "exposed." OH MY GOD, I am self-conscious, too.
Maybe I was never playing the French Horn all that well...

I think the French Horn is the # one most nerdy instrument of all the instruments. It’s like not good nerdy, like get your ass kicked every nerdy, not nerdy like when you grow up you are a millionaire but like you live with your mom in the basement. At least the Accordion is a cool nerdy instrument. Wow the French horn that’s bad really bad. They should get rid of all French horns. I feel like I’m going to get my ass kick just taking about it.

I also played french horn, then I switched to drums because french horn is one of the lamest instruments on earth. :-)
