Now if only they would release zero hour for the 360 , I'd buy it for the fourth time.

I can't wait for this game. I had a chance to preview it at the Xbox Blogger Bus at E3 - a bunch of guys from EA gave us a hands-on runthrough. I wrote about it on my blog:

If you like RTS games and have a 360 - the game is worth checking out.

Re: Ports to Xbox 360 from PC.

DUHHHH! It's MICROSOFT, and the Xbox 360 runs on XNA/DirectX. Of COURSE we'll see PC and 360 games developed together. Let me make this clear, though-- MOST of them are not "ports" but simultaneously developed for both platforms.

Examples include Oblivion and Call of Duty 2. Expect more of the same, and it's a GOOD thing. Why spend $300 on a video card and deal with crashes because the publisher has to make a PC game work with every possible combination of hardware when you can spend $300 on an Xbox 360 core and play the EXACT same games with all effects turned on, steady frame rates, a lot of the best downloadable content/mods, and no hardware inconsistencies?

I have an Xbox 360 to REPLACE my PC gaming rig. So far, I'm quite happy with it. If I wanted to run Oblivion as smoothly and beautifully as I am on my 360 with a PC, I'd have had to invest around $1200 minimum in a decent system with the top-of-the-line video card. Screw that. I want to play games, not tweak settings to make sure games don't crash on me.

It's also nice to have an online experience that isn't plagued with more cheaters than honest players.

Yes Zero corpse... because a 360 is an adequate replacement for all the PC's functions. You know i dont even have a top of hte line PC... and i probably use it more than my 360... mainly because i'm always sitting in front of it doing reports... so its just easier to play games on it. But then i also have a bigger investment in my PC than my 360 so it makes sense no?
Besides sometimes things on my PC just outstrip my 360. and the fact you'll ALWAYS need a PC. Where as consoles come and go.
Except of course when the revolution comes and and PCs and COnsoles become the same thing... MEdia centers!

I'm hoping that this game has the same effect that Halo had on consoles...that is to say that once the folks at Bungie figured out a good control scheme for FPS games...it seems like everyone finally realized that FPS games are credible on a console and aren't just for PC/Keyboard/Mouse.

I'm hoping this will be the first of many RTS games for the 360. I think the higher resolution must make a tremendous difference. RTS games are difficult at lower resolutions...you just can't see enough of what's going on.

Oh and to all that don't have an HDTV yet...do yourselves a favor and purchase the 360 VGA adapter so you can at least play in High Def on your computer monitor.

Jon- good observations. I hope so too.

I played it on 1080i, and 4 feet away from the plasma monitor, it looked great. I'd really like to see it at 480i, just for comparison. The camera control was very fast w/ the dual joysticks - which might help compensate for standard def. I was actually kind of shocked how intuitive the controls became.

There's also a multiplayer component via XBL that sounded awsome.
