If VG Cats had writing anywhere near as good as Penny Arcade, it would be winning this thing every week- cause let me tell you, you can't draw a comic better than VG Cats.

I found Dragon Tails good, I'm just not too fond of the whole 3D dragon thing... VGcats wasn't that great this week, in my opinion.

I thought they all sucked until I saw VG. That was pretty damn good. Seeing Mario get sliced gave me quite the chuckle. Also, gave me another reason to say "OWNED!!1!"

That's the problem with "Press Start to Play" they quite literally copied verbatim Nintendo's joke and are distributing it like they are the geniuses behind it.

PStP needs to hire a writer. It kills me to see all that artistic talent pissed away when there are so many great writers who would kill to collaborate with a good artist.

And of course, VG Cats, PSTP, and CtlAlt, all inferior and overrated comics, have placed in the top 3 because of popularity.

I'm torn between Sam and Max and Dinosaur Comics, although Dragon Tails should have placed easily.

Ramsoomir just takes jokes everyone else has made and anmates them. But seriously, it's Mario. And Snake cuts his throat. Big whoop.

The only reason why VG cats is winning is because it has to do with Smash Bros. It's not funny at all.

I went with quantz. Coz, well, it's quantz. I think you have to read most of the archives to fully appreciate it. Aside from that, all the comics that weren't VG Cats were terrible (IMO of course).

It really amuses me to see the differing opinions people have about some of these comics.

Like Joe's comment about VG Cats. I guess I can see that, but I find the pacing is done well, and the kirby face and non-sequiter at the end are classic. I think it shows real talent and understanding of what makes a sight gag funny. I think he's popular because he's good, and a lot of people recognize that. There have been times when VG cats wasn't so great, and people generally say so I think. It's only won the wraput 3 times so far this year, out of 8 appearances. (Yes, I did just go look all that up)

Dragon Tails has good ideas, but it's terribly frustrating to watch the execution fall flat on its face. It's got the most potential, which makes the lack of comedic punch that much more painful, IMHO.

If you disagree with the current poll results, give your best explanation why! I want to read it.

I can't beileve how badly Dinosaur Comics is doing. I guess people just don't see the pure brilliance in it. Not only is it the same 6 panels over and over again, it still remains funny. Even better than that comics with all new art. I just love how witty it is. My favourite part in it is probably the third panel. The last thing T-Rex says, just seems to come out of nowhere, but is true and ends up making me laugh.
Dragon Tails could have been good...but it just seems lacking. The end was just bad. I did sort of go, heh...but...it could have been better.
Dueling Analogs is good, but it's an inside joke. Those who have no idea who Sam and Max are(which is probably the majority of people) probably aren't going to get it, or laugh.
CAD just downright sucked this week. I does get a laugh out of me, occasionally...but this one was just downright horrible. I don't think anything about it could be considered...good.
PSTP was bad as well. As someone said before, it's not even orginal. It's just a scene from Zelda. That's like me making a comic of Link talking to some random guy and the guy saying "I AM ERROR". It's not my joke.
VG Cats...ehh...it's one of my favourites, but this one was just dumb. Most of it was just mindless waiting or violence, and then the end was a joke for MGS fans. The only part of the whole comic I even smiled at was the look on Kirby's face. That was priceless.
Dinosaur comics wins though, no contest...but it isn't...sigh~

id like to thank joystiq for giving my site an honorable mention. i was at a loss of breath when i saw that.i really appreciate it. maybe i can be part of the polls soon? Thanks for digging fanboys.

as for my thoughts on this weeks comics. i go for vgcats. vgcats art itself has a way to just make people laugh. the mario in the third panel is flat out awesome. the end was kinda meh, but the art makes up for anytime lacking writing exists.

dinasuar comics is always awesome. its amazing how the comics are always the same pictures and still make people laugh.

press start to play was good, but somebody had to explain it to me. i was like "i dont get it" and he was all "its a pottery shop, you break pots" and i was all "ive lost all laugh in this transaction". it was clever, but clever is no good if you have to dig up your funny.

i like the concept for dragon tails. Id like to see this become the next 8 bit theater. the presentation just insnt quite... there yet.

dueling analogs was... good for the fans of sam and max. but the comics just come off to me as a visual blog type of deal. everyone just seems to come off as a way to complain about something that was announced.
I have to say though that the konami code was brilliant. and if the artist can pull off stuff like that, he'll be up at the top of my favorites.

CAD... yeah... i miss the old ctrl alt del. back when ethan was a total a-hole to everyone, everything and anything. it was kinda byassed, but it was definitely funnier than tim buckleys newer stuff. and it went more towards the pc audience that he kinda went to. you dont see that now. some how the main character went from a violent, egotistical, smart mouthed alchoholic jerk (which was great) to a blithering alcholic idiot (which is not so great). lucas character isnt even there. hes just the running man for te comedy, and when hes made into a video game obsessed character, it just seems out of place. tim does get a few pieces of gold here and there ("were sony, we dont wear pants"), but i wish he'd apply his improved talents back to the edgy jerks he used to draw.

overall i dont like this weeks lineup (i was even dissatisfied with my honorable mention comic if youve read my post on it). and the clear victor goes to vgcats i think.
