This is fanmade? This looks near identical to an old official Indy game I got a shot of over ten years ago... The menu system is the same and I'm certain that same room was in the game too.

Well, technically it'd be LucasFilm sending the C&D, but that's just semantics. Maybe they aren't tards like Squeenix and the Chrono Trigger from a while back.

Why aren't works like this protected under parody law? Since there's no profit being made, isn't this fair use?

It's not finished and probably won't be for some time now, but for fans of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, check out Amberfish Arts dawt com. They're looking to make a sequel to the first, which is probably my favorite game of all time.

It of course falls under Fair Use, but most lawyers will cite that the game (in this case) potentially infringes on Lucasarts market, simply because its a viable IP and that they plan to continue to use Indiana Jones in future projects.

Defendants in this case should simply remark that under Fair Use law, this game in no way hurts the IP and it indeed is non-commercial, but ultimately, most artists dont care enough to go to court and LA simply ends up the bully.

It seems "Fat Sony Fanboy" was formerly "Fat Sierra Fanboy".

Actually Lucas supports fan created works, and has historically never hindered the production of a fan work, and has never issued cease and dessist to any of the hundreds of fan created star wars films, as long as this game is not for profit we can expect Lucas to be kind unlike all the other money hungry corps out there.

I sw an interview with the head of lucasarts on G4 back during E3. He was asked "are there any plans to resurrect the old franchises like maniac mansion, loom, or monkey island?"

He responded that they may they do that "10 years from now when there are some new ideas for these classic franchises."

Translation: there is no one with any talent left at lucasarts so they're just gonna rehash star wars over and over again for the next 10 years.

15 years ago I wondered why lucasarts didn't do star wars games... be careful what you wish for.
