hell yeah. I'm getting the Wii first and I'll pick up a 360 sometime in 07. I want VF5 really badly but not enough to pay $600 for it. Then again, I may skip the 360 and get a new graphics card for my PC instead.

Can't believe so many people are going to get Xbox360 + Wii . I can understand the Wii part, but why 360. Isn't it better to spend it on some new PC + Wii?

Wii for LoZ, Mario, SSB, and Metroid, at minimum, XBOX 360 for sports games and a few shooters, including Halo3.

Some of my favorite games are on the Playstation (Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid especially) but it's not worth the cash. Maybe near the end of the generation when a PS3 can be had for $149 I'll go for it, but not until then.

XBox360 and Wii for me, not because I don't like PS3 or because of the price issues. It all comes down to the simple question: "What do I want to play" but even more importantly, "What do I want to play with my friends and wife".

Yup, Wii for the family and for younger friends. Xbox360 for mainly me (as I don't like multiplayer over internet too much, lan parties, those are the thing for me) to play games like Oblivion and Halo3.

What does PS3 offer more, at the moment nothing. If things chance I might have all of the consoles, but why get a PS3 when I can play with the Xbox360 and use Wii when having friends or to play something with my wife.

Sorry Sony, it seems a no no this time.

Why i bought a 360 and why you should never compare pc with xbox360?

Lost odyssey,halo3,gears of war,gta4,mass
effect,resident evil5,fable2,blue
dragon,sonic,forza2,table tennis,lost planet,dead rising,rainbowsix and Tri-ace new rpg.

These are just some games that come into my head for the 360.

Im gonna buy a new pc this year, but im not into pc gaming so much,i like RTS on PC,but thats about it.

I went Wii only. As I do not want anything other than what Nintendo has to offer. Wii has everything I need. My second choice would be 360 due to the fact that it is a very nice console and overthrows the PS3 easily (to hell with specs), its only downfall is no Zelda hehe.

Sure i will miss out on FF without a ps3,but look at lost odyssey and blue dragon...

FF creator Sakaguchi will produce them,FF music composer nobuo will do the msuic for them,as he did with ff1-ff10.

AKira will work with Sakaguchi on Blue dragon, last time they worked together Chrono Trigger was created, how can you not be intrested in that game.

Also Christian lorenz who made art for FF9 and FF spirits within, and worked on movies like Matrix, day after tomorrow and fifth element will also do concept art for Lost odyssey.

So FF creator+Nobuo+Akira+Lorenz > Ownage.

The PS3's price point is bad for Nintendo. The PS3 WILL sell out very quickly, nothing is going to change that. But now, those PS3 owners AREN'T going to buy anything (including groceries) for a while. You KNOW the games won't be cheap. The discs themselves are going to contribute to a higher price. Expect to pay around $80 for most titles. So, these Sony superfans are going to have most of their assets tied up this fall. If you're a relative of a Sony diehard fan, don't expect a Christmas present from him/her this year.

*Side Note: To Joystiq: another good poll would be "if you go to buy a PS3, and the $600 version is sold out, will you settle for the "core" version?

*Side Note 2: BluRay will go the way of the laser disc. An extinct technology only found in the homes of the foolish and the elite.

And no,its not exclusive, but some games should be played on PC,and some on console.
For ex shadowrun that will work on vista and 360 should be played on PC,while Alan wake that will also come on both should probably be played on console, adventure games suits better on console.

Pgr3,graw,kameo,and viva pinata is games people should get also.

Wii here for a while, I plan on having a 360 but not until it's very well established.

I bought a PSP some days ago so I'm no anti-Sony. But really. The PS3 price point and lack of enticing games have done it for me. Until the system drops below the price of the 360 Core I'm not even going to look at it. Maybe to spit at. Perhaps.

Wii and Ps3 for sure.. The Wii just because it looks like its going to be a riot to play.. and the ps3 because iam sick of all the same old shooters for the xbox, and would rather have all the games from japan that will be on the ps3 and never see an xbox. Ill doubt ill ever see a winning eleven or resident evil for an xbox.

I also dont understand the people that complain about the price of the 360 and ps3 when they have no problem dropping that kind of money on a new video card for there computer, just so they can have the highest framerate in the latest overated shooter.

What i want to know is what those Japanese gaming journalist's will say under TGS!

I remember them talking how overpriced and that a cnsole should not cost that much as the xbox360 premium did when it costed 34.000 yen.

Now ps3 core is gonna cost 58-64.000 yen.
YES,CORE,not premium,we dont know what stores in japan will take for premium, but here in europe they gonna charge you 100 euro more for it...

And in USA 100 dollar.

Gonna be very, very intresting to see those journalist at the press conference, and if they are bias or not.
Espcially since a huge majority of gamers in Japan think ps3 is way overpriced.

Yeah I voted straight up Wii, not for M!!, but Wii can all play it, and have fun. That is the key word "fun", games are not as much fun as they used to be. Sure they can be a challenge but not really fun anymore. The only console/handheld I've been playing for about 6 months is my DS, so if the Wii is anything like it, it will be really fun...that's what I'm looking for, fun not something to rule my life like it has in the past. It's not about graphics so much anymore, It's fun and immersion and graphics can only get you so far. But I'm not against the other consoles, I've played the 360 and It didn't wow me like the Ico demo I played almost 6 years ago (wow I'm getting old) and then getting wowed again by Metroid Prime (probably the best game I've played this gen) even more than Ico did. And then Spliter Cell...wow Splinter Cell...well it was amazing...untill...Metal Gear Solid 3 now...I'm speechless, I had never played anything like those games...

Those games would have been nothing without the graphics, and power that helped make something like that. But now...I don't know how much more can you innovate with the same default control/interaction. Those games were created by very talented people and if those people developed with the Wii, something that innovative with the interface (agree or not) that could be something truly amazing...
P.S. The 360 isn't that bad...GO MAINSTREAM GAMING GO!!!

Hmm, probably GTA4 is best on consoles cause even though they are single player its a game people can just watch and have fun, and simply take turns (though you know everyone cheats eventually, and trainers make it so much more fun). BUT adventure games like Alan Wake? Some of my fondest memories are PC adventure games, i.e. Grim Fandango.

Also three things: Bioshock, 360 and PC exclusive, right? But best on console for sure, and what about Fable 2 on PC? Aaaand, upgrading my PC would cost a boatload.

Buying a Wii on launch day. Used to own a PS2, and hated the GC, and XBOX, simply for spite. I had one (of sveeral) PS2's since its launch. I sold it in October after I was given a Gamecube.

Wow. So much better.

People list that the PS2 has better games.

NAME THEM. IT DOESN'T.

It just doesn't have as much utter garbage to muddy the waters.

So it's Wii for me, from lauch. I'm not getting rid of my GC games at all, and right now, I am buying all the Resident Evil games for it. Which is pretty cool, I think.

The only thing to sway me to a PS3, was last year, the thought of GTA4....But since that is coming to the 360, its 360 all the way.

And besides, really, you think MGS4 WON'T come to 360?

That's very cute of you.

Especially with the cell. Iam not taking the ps3 side of things, i just think that it may have more potential.. but with that comes the price.. which even i think is too high.

Konami and Square-enix will fully support ps3,while whatever happends to 360 is left to be seen.

And btw my brother who is 23 will buy the ps3,even though it will cost him 800 dollar, but that lucky bastard can afford that with no problem cause he lives in a apartment with his GF,while i who study will never afford it in a long while.

Its one thing to lend money from your parents or friends to pay for a 360 premium for the cost of 480 dollar, but 800 for a ps3?

Ofc this is Swedish prices...
But what rich european countries shoukd expect.

I realy thought I could get my HD fix from the PS3, but now, there is no chance I can drop that kinda cash. So now, it is just going to be the Wii, and maybe in 3-4 years, a PS3, whent he price hits somthing closer to being realistic.

I've been planning on getting only a Wii the whole time. If the Wii were $600 and the PS3 were $200 or $250, I'd still get a Wii, and nothing else. I didn't really like the last generation of consoles, and although I owned a PS2 and a Gamecube, and also played an Xbox many, many times, I just didn't like what I saw. Every game seemed to be the same thing. Nintendo has failed only once in my opinion, with the gamecube, but I have no doubt that the Wii will be all it's been hyped up to be and much, much more. On the contrary, the 360 and the PS3 are doing the exact same thing they've been doing, making the same old games with a prettier face. I'm not even going to consider buying one of these consoles.

I picked up a 360 (in anticipation of Lost Planet and Gears of War. Maybe I was a bit hasty. I grabbed Halo 2 as well and played through it fairly quickly, but I'm deprived of Live because of the damn PAL50 issue). I intend to get a PS3 if/when I can affor one. The Wii has yet to prove itself insofar as the controller really being useful, rather than just a gimmic (which I guess you really have to play it to find out).

No doubt I'll pick up a PS3 at some point. It's not the price that's bugging me, I'm just tired of Playstation.

There was nothing Sony or PS3 developers showed at E3 that excited me as a gamer. Sony need to convince me that the PS3 is next gen hardware powering next gen games - because I'm sick of seeing graphical updates to existing over-the-hill franchises.

MGS4 looks great, but will it play any differently to 3, and can it even dare hope to surpass the glorious original? FFXIII - more of the same...

I'm happy with my Xbox360, and I think 06/07 will really see it hitting it's stride with a combination of new IP's and updates to existing franchises. Hopefully Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon can reinvigorate the lacklustre Japanese RPG genre.

For me the Nintendo Wii really excites me as a gamer, so I'll be getting a Wii on release, and a PS3 much much later; but only IF Sony can convince me that it's games are worth it and the PS3 is something more than a trojan horse to get Blu-Ray in to homes.

Actually, the PS2 had lots of great exclusives. But the real question is how many of those will move to the PS3?

Sony themselves only published a few that really interest me. The Ratchet and Clank series and God of War (and God of War can be replaced by a lot of things)

The expected PS2-style exclusives, which made the system so great, will more than likely go to the system which makes the most sense economically to them.

Getting down to brass tacks. Sony believes that this generation is a marathon. It's really a drag race. The system with the most market power come E3, will see the lion's share of the games, in both quanity and quality, released for it.

If the PS3 lags in sales against the Wii and the 360, expect a very bad E3 for Sony next year. Will it sell out the initial shipment? Sure. But how many will it sell before initial adopters run out? That's the question.

If it's less than 5 millions world-wide, Sony is in a heap of trouble.

I've got a 360. I'd planned on buying a PS3 in a couple of years if the graphics and games were really that much better. But after seeing the price-point it would take some way, way better graphics to persuade me.

And if the graphics aren't that much better, and online is worse, well that'll settle it for me (even without the price-point).

However with it, the PS3 isn't even on my radar anymore. I'd been willing to give Sony the benefit of the doubt, but now I'm done for at least 2-3 years with the PS3.

FAT SONY FANBOY:

How can you possibly list Killzone as a system seller?

Have you played the first one, or just watched The CG videos from over a year ago?

The game is awful, and no amount of blu-ray or pizza, or bacon fat will fix shitass programmers.

MG will not reamin on the PS3.

Mark my words.

Even so, a game which (in every case) can be beaten in under 10 hours is not worth the 8000 dollars required to play it.

This topic makes me writhe in pain at all the negativity and swearing.

I'm going for the 360/Wii combo, I already have a 360, and it's going way beyond what Microsoft said in terms of Live, which is totally great. I've been downloading new demos for weeks now, I keep having to delete old ones( which is my only real complaint, the Hard Drive, which also has BC errors for me), which of course makes me unhappy, but I'll probably just be suckered into getting one of the 60+ gigs that you absolutely know MS will release in a counter attack to the PS3 launch( along with a very probable price drop).

So Microsoft/team Xbox followed through on their word, and Nintendo often does as well, so I'm sticking with the guys that I can trust. Obviously though, I consider the Xbox team/group and Microsoft for home computers to be very, very different companies. :P

Hideo Kojima has already announced that he is working on a Wii title. He hasn't said whether or not it's a MG installment or something entirely new. Given the low production costs of Wii titles, he can afford to build a title up from scratch. If that's the case, more people should be excited about the direction he's taking for the future. On the flipside, having Snake included in Smash Bros. could indicate yet another MG installment.

Either way, he's NOT sticking with Sony exclusively. Take that into account with the GTA announcement and you'll realize that Sony is faltering. In ten years, we'll be comparing the BluRay decision to Nintendo's decision to stick with cartridges instead of finishing the Playstation with Sony.
