Personally, I'm tired of this genre. Can we move on? Or change it up a bit? Maybe you can experience war through the eyes of a rabbit trying to avoid the gunfire while moving his family to safer ground. And his family would be HUGE, lots of little rabbits to gather up.

I like bunnies.

While I'm a massive FPS fan,I cant help but cringe at the idea of an aaa title like this not heading to the pc. My 360 gets lots of gameplay, just not of the FPS sort. painful news.

holy cow! That's awesome. I hope the ingame graphics are that good. Personally I'm ok with another WWII game. especially with it being COD3, since COD2 was so awesome.

Actually there are two different Call of Duty titles in the works at the moment.
The one we all know from E3 is being developed by Treyarch for next-gen consoles.
The other is being developed by Infinity Ward for the PC.

So there will be a new Call of Duty title for the PC, it's just that the PC version is being developed by the original creators and the console version is being developed by (as far as I know) the porters of the previous versions.

While there may be no officially announced plans to bring this title to the PC, the fact that it is coming out for the Xbox 360 pretty much tells us it is coming out for the PC as well. I can't imagine a company not putting a FPS on the PC when the transition is so easy (according to some).

Maybe it will be like Condemned and not even have the PC announcement until sales on the 360 go down a little.

cringer8, tch tch, much to learn you have.
At the end of the day, no one cares if you are personally tired of Call of Duty. As long as it keeps getting fantasic reviews and massive sales (every CoD game so far), it will keep on going. Durrrrrrrrhrhr!!

Well, my clan and myself are done with Call of Duty forever, so I'm not disappointed about the lack of a PC version. They screwed up the PC version of COD2 so badly that it wasn't even funny; they only recently patched it to the point that it is now just like COD/UO, only without vehicles.

We're all playing BF2 now, and have moved on; we'll prolly spend oodles on BF2142.

What a shame they screwed up such a great franchise by bowing and scraping to MicroSoft.

I'm glad that CoD3 doesn't appear to be going to the pc and that Infinity is going to develop a new CoD specifically for the pc. I can't say that I dislike CoD2 on the pc since I play it all the time, but I believe most of its short comings were a result of developing the game for both the pc and the 360 instead of directly for the pc.

cringer8 - that is the greatest idea for a game. it should be made for all the overdone genres - navigate your family of rabbits to safety amid a WWII shooter, a run of the mill racing game, a halo clone, etc. could be a platform for a reaelly humorous game, too.

You all complain about the lack of creativity in games, but are getting excited about this game that brings absolutely nothing new to the table. Lets make this game the example that we are tired of the same old and want the videogame industry to move on to its true potential, that of a medium that rivals film and explores more emotions than anger.

My favorite restaurant also brings nothing new to the table each and every time I eat there. That's why it’s my favorite restaurant. I know what I am getting and I like it. That's not to say that I won't keep looking for a new favorite restaurant and inevitably I will find a new favorite. But don't knock a great restaurant (or in this case a great game) for continuing to do what they do best or me for liking what I like.

COD is a great franchise so it would be ill advised to screw with it too much. The dev can experiment with their next title.

Well said Jason. There are plenty of other games out there if you are tired of WWII shooters. CoD does the genre well and has no reason to change the formula. And Ryan, how do you assume that everyone that is excited about this game is complaining about the lack of creativity in games?

Hmm....

I have to give a chuckle at the people who actually believed the video they showed at E3 was actual gameplay video of CoD3...

...Because this is far behind that. I haven't seen it in action, but I'm willing to bet it's only a minor graphical improvement to CoD2. Which I'm sorry to say, can't touch what BoB is doing with the Unreal engine....and let's say MoH: Airborne really does look and play like the screenshots...CoD has lost its title as the premiere WW2 shooter.

For those complaining that they want WW2 shooters to go away already...

WW2 shooters have pretty much become a genre in themselves. There are FPS's and then there are WW2 FPS's. They sell wildly proving there is still a demand and fascination with WW2 era battles/weapons/history within the masses.

Since this is being developed only for consoles...should I assume this is the sequel to COD2: Big Red One, or are they done with that two franchises crap and this is the sequel to the real COD2?

Either way I really think they should do Call of Duty: Survival of the Bunnies.

I think the shortcomings of the pc version of CoD2 were quite obvoius. The most glaring of them being the lack of PB from the start and the long time it took to finally get a patch out for it. I interpret the cause of this to be developing the game for both pc and 360. Aside from that, I think that the control of the game is not as good as it was in the first CoD. Once again I think this probably had to do with developing the game from the start to work well with both a mouse and keyboard and a controller opposed to just the mouse and keyboard. Thats just my opinion. And don't get me wrong, I love CoD2 and play it almost everyday. I just think that developing the game for multiplatform weakens the pc version and we would be better off with a version exclusively designed for the pc.
