(The revised) next-gen console size comparisons

I hear a lot of people want to compare the 360's total package to the PS3's total package, which makes the PS3 look better if you plan on moving your console a lot, and makes the 360 look better if you are limited in space in your entertainment center.

Are there any Japanese gamers reading this? What is your take?

To those saying the 360 needs to have its power supply included in the size comparison, you don't have the power supply out with the console, silly. It's safely tucked behind the entertainment unit. So, when you compare the actual dimensions of the two machines when they're sitting next to each other on your shelf, The PS3 is the bigger of the two. Nothing wrong with admitting that. ;)

8 cubic meters is about 6feet by 6feet by 6 feet, I'm thinking his decimal point is at the wrong place

Oh, and if we're gonna play the whole 'power supply needs to be included' argument, might as well revisit the PSTwo size, because it's clearly measured without the external power supply.

Seriously though, what do you expect the 360 power supply to look like? It's drawing more than 200 watts. The PSTwo draws less than a third of that. Of course the 360 power supply is going to be on the large side. Any idiot should understand that. I can gurantee you the PS3 weighs so much because of the power supply, which will more than likely draw more power than the 360. ;)

ppl made fun of it because it is big and square, shape matters more than the size does, shape has an effect on the perceived size of an object.

Now imagine this, the 360 it's huge power brick and the HDD dvd addon,now how big is that you will need a separate stand just for all that crap. Not to mention all of it together will weight a good 30 pounds.
