Guild Wars goings-on
The Europeans are currently dominating the rest of the field, while the Americans struggle to hold ground, and the Japanese and Korean teams scarcely put up a fight. World Cup headlines? Nah, we still have another week to go for that. How about a Guild Wars Factions Championship update?Europe's undefeated Esoteric Warriors won the latest qualifying round, and the European teams hold seven of the top ten spots. South Korea's The Last Pride, winners of the first Guild Wars World Championship, currently sit in fourth place hoping to add another US$50K to their earnings. Americans must be too busy playing World of Warcraft.

Guild Wars just didn't strike me as an enjoyable game. The normal game smacked of boringness (especially since you had almost no loot choices) and the PvP seemed like hotkey hero land. I put it down fairly quickly.
Side note: I am pretty much burnt out on anything resembling Diablo, so if you're still really digging hack/slash gameplay you might like it.

guild wars isn't just Diablo and it really shines on PvP. you have to be competitive to enjoy it.
some say its like magic: the gathering skill-wise

I don't want to sound like a fanboy of gw here, but I just want to point out that the game is fairly tactical, and not just hack n slash. Due to the restriction that you can only take 8 skills (but can change in outposts), you will notice a fast break between the 'smarter' players and the rushing ones. Also, team communication is a must.
I am sorry to hear you didn't like it. Admitted, there are a lot of 'kids' online lately, who have been bugging me as well. But if you look past that, and if you have a fun and good guild, its really fun.
Greetings, kite

Thanks for taking a break from your WoW coverage to shine the spotlight on GW. ;)
