Well, the teaser is for episode 2, so it doesn´t spoil episode 1 in any way, even if you had finished it you wouldn´t imagine what is gonna happen to Alyx, and are you sure that you saw what you saw? Don´t call her dead before the body is buried, as joystiq didn´t.

Guys, it took me less than 2 hours to beat episode 1. In fact, it probably takes less time to beat the game than it did for a "l33t hAx0r" to get this file extracted...
I mean, this trailer plays at the end of ep 1 anyway.
By the way, Ep 1 was good. Short..but good.

For the many who haven't played through Episode 1 yet: the Episode 2 trailer will not spoil anything important.
Watch it and enjoy. Seriously. If you're in the middle of Ep.1 right now then you might as well finish it first, but believe me: Joystiq didn't spoil anything.
(Though they probably should have made that clearer.)

i just paid for EP1 right now...downloadeing the build as we speak. If anything, that trailer made me want to play EP1 even more.
Those tripod things are amazing! talk about scary...just imagine the alien swarm sending these out to track down and destroy the remaining survivors of Earth...wow.
Valve is becoming exactly what I envision the evolution of gaming to be...a blending of movies and gaming with unique storylines and characters you can actually care about. everything is top notch, from the presentation to the voice talent.
im glad to spend my hard-earned money supporting a company that continues to deliver.

Although i loved hl2, i didnt neccesarily care for the guns (i wish they imported some of the guns from cs, with more powerful accurate bullets, but made the game harder at the same time), alot of the guns just felt ineffective, such as the smg, just sitting in a corner, jumping out and spraying, etc.
Anyone know if the new episodes add new guns?

Ya know, spoiler people, I actually knew pretty much what was going to happen in HL2 a LONG time ago, and am still enjoying it now, even though there aren't as many 'twists.' Knowing what happens doesn't impact the gameplay, especially little details like the *SPOILER*in a tunnel, a strider rushing you from behind while Overwatch covers your front */SPOILER*
I think I'll wait for the trilogy bundle that they're likely gonna make before I buy the episodes, though :

Seriously guys, who gives a damn? It's news, it's vague, it doesn't spoiler jack.
The part where Alyx is holding on to the steel-strut is actually moments after the "boss-fight" in the original HL2. And if you haven't even beat THAT, I'd doubt you to care about what happens in Episode 1 OR 2.
So quit hating on Joystiq, go read the latest news on barbie.com or something... geez...

What's with the "Episode #" naming scheme lately. Pretty unoriginal if you ask me...
And those complaining about the spoilers. It's a trailer, not an ending. Sort of like, a preview, you know. Like, if you watch a preview for a movie, will it spoil the movie? Okay, sometimes, I know. But this shouldn't be a big deal... unless you're intentionally trying to avoid all HL2 information.

Actually, those little Striders are in Episode One. But it's just a very short cameo. The trailer doesn't give anything away, it just gets me excited for what may be a slightly less linear experience of Episode Two!

The title of this page includes the words "Alyx is hurt" which, denotes that she survives Episode One, spoiling that for those who haven't played it yet. You don't even have to click on the link to have something ruined.

Bah, it's just a game. Fun game, I should add, but a game nonetheless. I'm doubtful about this Episode One to be honest. I'm fairly content with tinkering with the console commends of HL2 at the moment.

Wow, I love how joystiq "spoiled" everyone's stupid game by putting up a video that THEY can access as well within ep-1's media folder. If it was such a bad spoiler, i doubt valve would have blatently put that media in there at all. So whiners: shut the fuck up. so, in the beginning of halflife 2: ep1 you survive the initial explosion by being saved by the vortigaunts. Somehow, they lock the gman up and you're now a free agent. the first level is taken up with you and alyx trying to stabilize the force field around the core generator of the citadel. You do this, but it is still going to explode, all you've done is bought time for the evacuation. the combine overwatch is cut off from their home planet and you and the restiance have a twofold goal: get far enough away from the citadel that you arent killed by the explosion, and harrass the overwatch enough so everybody else can too.
oh yeah, theres this special message that the overwatch is trying to get to their home planet. it's so important that they purposly blow up the citadel to create the nessecary energy to transmit it. alex extracts a copy of the message for you to carry to doc kliener so he can analyze it.
kliener appears on those propaganda towers, and tells everybody the truth about various things such as why the citadel is blowing up and that they should escape and says that the overwatch "reproductive suppression field" is now off-line.
