I actually went to prom with NES controller cufflinks. Everyone loved 'em, even my dates were playing with them. Unfortunately, I lost the ones that came with the rented tux, so they got mad at me for that >_>

Ah, you guys appear to be correct... the Game Boy Color had the Color logo prominently placed where the hard-to-read Pocket logo resides in the picture above. Nice catch, Smith 'n' deft.

I think they're clever. But I have something even cleverer *UP* my sleeve:

EB Games is running a promotion starting Sunday. You get an extra $20 towards the trade-in of ANY system. Add that to the $50 trade-in for the DS, and you're looking at $70 towards a DS Lite. If I bring in a couple of my GC games on top of it, I could upgrade to a Lite for practically FREE (considering I preordered with a $25 deposit). Woo Hoo!

Wind Waker, get out. Just get out. Bad joke :p.

I'm sorry but you asking to get shot for wearing these cufflinks. It amazes me how thin the line is between being a Nintendo (add any other company name that suits you) admirer and being a Nintendo fanatic. This ain't showing homage, it shows obsessivness. If you go out with these I would be suprised if you had any other life apart from playing computer games. It is pathetic and revolting. What I am trying to point out is that they feed the steriotype that Gamers only eat, drink and sleep games.

I guess if you were going out in a clown's outfit it would be alright but apart from that it is just wrong.

Just my opinion.

Those look neat! Where could you get a pair? This what makes people unique! People shoud not be afraid of expressing themselves! So what if that makes you a Nerd or a Geek, at least it's diferent and not a stereotype. And it's not something that jumps out of the Tux in first sight! Now that would be ridiculous. Just imagine arriving to your prom with the NES Control buckle on... But then again even that sounds cool!... or not!

I'm one of the developers of Etsy.com, the site that the cufflinks were listed on -- they're sold out now, but if you click "request a similar item through Alchemy" on the right side of the page, you could ask them to make you more. ;]

What about adding a sweet belt to the outfit? Check out http://www.nesbuckle.com. I remember some of the formal events from my high school, and it can't be any worse than rocking your sneakers or baseball cap with the tux like I used to see. Raise your hand if you know what I mean.
