It's the key to an old form of advertising that used to sell snake oil by the ton.

The funny thing is I know a Psychologist that said these games actually show to have very minor effects on the brain. Other games, such as first person shooters, have shown positive effects in the brain. How's that for irony?

"How effective Dr. Kawashima's unnervingly polite floating head is at preventing or combating the condition still hasn't been conclusively established"

It's not "floating head" it's "The Pocket Asian"!

FPS games may have a more positive impact (a pretty broad category in itself) on mental performance, but when's the last time you saw an old-timer play Doom or Half-life? Granted, they are out there (somewhere), but I think this is certainly more accessible and easier to pick up.

Plus, it's probably more encouraging than being blown to bits or blowing things to bits...

Mental performance increase from playing a FPS how? FPS is just sight and reaction time. It's not real thinking.

There have been studies done that showed very little brain function going on while doing a fps or watching tv.

Doing math on the other hand uses more of the brain.

Firstly look up the definition of irony, and secondly do you want to offer any kind of evidence or just more conjecture pulled out of your ass?

Must be strange to live in a soceity where the elderly are respected and cared for, as opposed to shunning them into obscurity and looking onto them with a mixture of contempt, digust and embarassment.
