Now if only Sony had made their own Playstation 2 Portable instead of the PSP.

LOL @ the Colecovision! It even has the four color buttons for games using the Super Controller (though it's missing the "fly wheel" that was at the bottom [the only game I remember using the wheel was "Frontline"]).

I think I will commission him to build me one. Portable "Spy Hunter" and "Venture," sweeeeeet.

I have to say that Ben Heck's latest stuff is not strange at all. That dude has some awesome engineering skills. (I was partly inspired by him for my own project.)

The Dreamcast Portable is something I would actually love to buy. It deserves the number 1 spot. PS2 Portable is just a slim PS2 with superglued controller/screen. Not portable at all.

The portable PS2 coulb be nice unless the PSP was out.
Right now, I'd love a portable Xbox.
The short 5 min. recesses at school is enough time for fighting some random matches in Soul Calibur 2, and really cool, especially if I don't have to drag my box and a TV with me through the all school and the school bus.

@ Cringer, there was a football game that used the flywheel too to throw passes. That was the first football game that allowed you to run back 30 yards to throw a 60 yard pass lol! My father couldn't stand that tactic!

I wouldn't mind having the portable jaguar for Tempest 2000. I loved that game and the soundtrack was insane. In this age of Rez and geometry wars, why hasn't anyone ported Tempest 2000 to DS or PSP or XBLA?

Here, you’ve got everything from the GameCube To Go (Cube goes portable) to Game Break’s favorite, the NEStation, an old school Nintendo console that looks like the PS2.

Jeffler, you forgot the link to the Xbox :)

That's awesome. I'd love to figure out the vacuum forming stuff. My project will be a basic laser-cutting at a sign shop, but making your own molds and such is just so cool. I love the curvy look to the final case.

Wow. That L64 is beautiful. Not that it needs it, but where is the D-pad?

I like the Ben Hack stuff, but it all tends to look like hacked consoles. The L64 referenced above, however, looks like a work of art.

@ 15 :

quote:

"I left out the d-pad and L button because they aren't used much. However, for aesthetics, I made the L button act as the Z button. This way it looks like a big GBA."

I like the "gamecube-to-go". If it was painted black, i'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Think about it, SSBM on the go? How can you argue with that?

Thanks for the comments! In fact I'm not any bigwig of the game industry, I'm just a 16 year old with too much time...

So, glueing a controller to a slimline PS2 makes it somehow portable? Totally freakin lame next to Ben Heck's work...
