Actually, Penny Arcade probably would've won this time. All the others seemed kind of "easy." I don't think I even voted this time, they were all so stale.

"Sorry about being late on this, I had a gaseous expenditure of the cerebral cortex. "

Heh, brain fart. Amusing. Very amusing. I know, I know... easily amused.

Last I heard, such events in the brain would cause a lot more damage than just forgetfulness.

Penny Arcade's was awesome, one of the best strips they've had in months.

I voted for My Extra Life. Though it was pretty funny, mainly 'cause I don't read many web-comics and haven't seen one about that yet. I also found a great web-comic for next week. Just follow the link below for the comic.

You can find the rest of his comics here.

[Editor's note: for sake of full disclosure, the commentor here is actually the artist of this webcomic]

You know, all you editors at Joystiq are evil. Have any of you ever thought that there are other web-comics out there besides Penny Arcade, CAD, VG Cats, PSTP, Dueling Analogs, and My Extra Life? Can't you ever give some other people a chance? I've worked by bass off delivering a new comic every single day for practically nothing! And yet, you can't at least aknowledge that there are other web-comics out there? Maybe if you just got out of those tiny little boxes your living in you'de find something new. Maybe if you just looked at my comic maybe you'de actually see something in it. But no, you just can't seem to look beyond anything less popular then Penny Arcade. I kill you all with a fish! I have spoken.

That's harsh, linkman.

Either way, hopefully the next round of webcomics will be good ones :-)

You forgot Concerned, RPG TV, Fanboys Online, Nuklear Power, Dragon Tails, qwantz, Perry Bible Fellowship, FoxTrot, etc., as well as a few user-submitted comics that we hosted 'cos we liked so much.

Linkman, honestly? I find your comic, when games-related (that's the initial criteria I look at -- it's not my place to judge the others and I won't even look at them), not well-drawn, not funny, and at times a little too offensive for the payoff joke. I don't see the humor and I don't see the artistic merit. But fine, next week I'll post one, and we'll see how it fares with the other webcomics.

That said, I am not going to allow you, or anyone else for that matter, to falsely identify yourself and mislead people reading your link -- its dishonest.

Fine, sorry for being such a jerk. It's just... I don't have the means to get my comic anywhere. That was my only way of getting known to the world, and when your comic is so un-popular as mine you just feel like giving up a lot of the time, it's depressing.

And for the record, I don't draw them. They're done completely on the computer.

Dont' sweat it, and I'm sorry for coming off as a jerk, too. But, I will give your comic its day in the sun; it's unfair of me to do so otherwise, especially considering your determination.

In this day and age, if you're starting a webcomic you need to go into it fully expecting to go NOWHERE. The internet is saturated with them and it's the harsh reality that most people are not going to give your comic a moment's notice. You should make comics because it's a hobby you enjoy. People don't build model airplanes because they want random people to herald them as a skilled craftsman - they do it because it's fun and there's satisfaction to be had by creating something tangible. The same logic needs to be applied to making webcomics.

The problem is... I started the comic to get more people to my site. :P I never started it as a hobby or anything, although I do enjoy making them.

That's not a reason to start a comic, and if you lack passion then so, too, will your comics. You have to actually want to do one and show the reader that you have some commitment to your work. Only then will you accomplish anything with it.

I meant to say that was my original reason. Back in the day -- like, five years ago -- I started a comic strip called Hackfam. With that comic I never intended to release onto the internet or become famous, I simply wanted to make a comic for me and my family too enjoy.

Along comes Game Boyz, the original reason for making it: to make me famous. But after less then a month it turned into more of a hobby. Now my real reason of making these comics is more less to entertain my self and my family.

Besides, I think I've already accomplished something with it. Someone actually e-mailed me personally too tell me he loved my comics. So, really, I guess I could die right now and say I accomplished something.

And, anyways, If I didn't have commitment, I don't think I would be making them everyday in the first place. ;-)
