New Project Gray Company artwork
Electronic Arts announced their next-gen RPG, Project Gray Company, a few months ago, but didn't have much of a presence at E3. However, the web site has been updated with new concept artwork, and designer diary podcasts are added every few weeks. Producer Steve Gray is also active on EA's forums, offering his E3 impressions and soliciting feedback for Gray Company, as well as other RPG projects around the industry.Project Gray Company is currently scheduled for a Q2 release next year and will be competing with the likes of BioWare's Dragon Age, Obsidian's Neverwinter Nights 2, and new expansion packs for Oblivion. Other PS3 fantasy adventures such as Assassin's Creed and Lair are also expected in 2007.

It looks like the are making a game entirely from unused Lord of the rings designs.
Just Like EA to not be doing anything creative what so ever.

True, EA does have a lot of LOTR talent on this project, but BioWare has put a lot of D&D people on Dragon Age, so there's a good chance we may see influences from both franchises in these new "original" settings.
I can't wait for NWN2 and Assassin's Creed looks cool.

That looks a lot like from Chronicles of Narnia.

Heh, more like Project 'Gay' Company, miright? Lol.
That's some mighty stiff competition though. If I was in any position of power, I'd hold off until the summer comes around, seeing as there's NOTHING in the summers!

Umm... I'm pretty sure Never Winter Nights 2 is supposed to come out in September of this year. I don't really see how that would affect Project Gray Company, especially when insiders are worried that the near-death Atari will force a rushed product out just to inject itself with some badly needed cash.

Cabbage boy,
Gray Company is scheduled to come out just 7-8 months after NWN2. That would be some serious competition as NWN2 will just be getting its legs at that point and the user community will be starting to make maps.
It's going to be a good year for RPGs! Maybe another KOTOR in 2007?

There is some nice artwork on the official site, but it doesn't look completely original. With so many popular fantasy franchises, it's getting harder to be original. I don't know how those Magic artists keep doing it year after year.
