Rumor: Indie darling Darwinia to hit XBLA?

In some leftover scuttlebutt from GDC, word on the street is that the bad boys from Introversion, the independent developers that created indie-darling (and Independent Games Festival winner) Darwinia are working with the big boys in Redmond to get their game on the Xbox Live Arcade platform. Reasons why this is a logical move and a likely rumor:
- They've already gotten Darwinia on that other major digital distribution network (psst: it begins with "Stea" and ends with "m". Got it?)
- Uh, they've said they're interested. We know, everyone's interested. Fellow Steam-distributed developers Ritual Entertainment keep screaming about it, but they've got that whole enormous download thing to deal with. The XBLArcade blog points us to this video (.wmv) of SpikeTV's GameHead where Introversion's Mark Morris says, "... it's about 30 megs which makes it perfect for things like Live Arcade." CliffyB asks if they're planning on it and Morris responds, "I'm gonna try. Gonna talk to Microsoft and see what they say."
- XBLArcade correctly points out that if the developers of an award-winning and critically acclaimed independent game want to bring it to your platform, what do you say? Well, according to German blog Xbox Archiv, you say "Yes. Please." They claim to have overheard a conversation at GDC between the two parties.

Makes a lot more sense as a wii title though.

2. The older version of the game would make sence on wii, but could possibly use the camera for the gestures instead.
The newest demo version drops the gesture input system and but uses a more console friendly button interface. Having played with both interfaces i think have to say i prefer the new interface.

I was speaking with John at the Darwinia booth at the conference, who's been the one-man army porting Uplink and Darwinia to Linux and Mac platforms in the past, and he said (without my specifically asking) that he wanted to bring Darwinia over to Xbox Live Arcade. Meanwhile, Chris Delay (the main designer and programmer for Introversion) was checking out of booth duty to go to a lecture on Xbox Live programming.

Makes sense, its a small game and control wise it wouldn't be too hard to adapt to the analog sticks...

Hello,
today we got new info from Introversion that they are in talks about several projects with microsoft and sony! Darwinia could find it's way to that plattform too. They cannot say anymore but will keep us updated. Microsoft Germany also confirmed there are talks. Just for info.

Oh... my... god.
Another reason showing innovation STARTS from software.
Wii? I don't see Darwinia near it, not that I want to. :D

This type of gaming would make far more sense than the current titles headed to the XBLA. If I wanted pacman, I could just emulate it for what, like 8 different systems?

LOL, Imo, the poor portbox its not even capable of pushing this game 30fps = 10FPS per core!!!!
