i hope they do it as an XBL title and not as a 40$ dvd game with load-times. i also wish they'd make it like tetrinet.

Good for nintendo.

I wasn't aware that they'd gone around THQ to develop Tetris for the DS. I guess I'd better go buy it soon, lest it get discontinued for another "Tetris Worlds" rehash.

Why is it that Nintendo's been the one company that can release Tetris without screwing it up?

DVD- I enjoyed Tetris Worlds for the xbox, especially the Hot line and Fusion gametypes.

The puzzle game I'd really like to see is lemmings, but seen as though it's published by SCE (i think), it just ain't gonna happen.

ahh yes... the continuing legal saga of the greatest video game of all time.

Let's all pause a moment to remember the guy who started it all:

Oh, and Alexey Pajitnov works for Microsoft now, so in a way it's kind of cool that he's getting paid for inventing a classic.

Tetris DS is deffinatly one of the best versions. I just wish it would have left out all the Nintendo stuff man. That mari theme gets sooo fucking repetitive. Maybe THQ would have put in the origonal Tetris theme.... And the ability to change the music.

Yeah, I used to work for THQ and I must say they should NOT be able to publish Tetris games because they suck at it. You wouldn't think it'd be that difficult to get right!

Is this Arika's Tetris: The Grand Master Ace? Because if it is, it may be a reason for me to get a 360.

Not only does Pajitnov work at Microsoft now, but he made the game that comes with the 360, Hexic. Why his name isn't on the title screen or anything is a bit weird.

Hexic is a fabulous game... IMO better as a puzzle game than Tetris. The reason why Tetris is so great is that it's simple (duh) but Hexic has many levels of chess-like complexity. Good for Alexey... dude needs to get paid and paid and paid for those titles.

@soco

I gotta agree. If they could come close to Tetrinet I'll be all over it. Hopefully

Finally my wife MAY play something on the 360. She is not just a casual gamer, she is hardcore oldskool. Not because she's trying to be cool, she just hates any game with a need for more than a few buttons. This and the Wii may let me play with my wife more often - not that I want her cutting into my Oblivion time ;)

Yeah THQ is completely incapable of doing Tetris right. Tetris Worlds on the GBA was the biggest waste of $20 imaginable. God bless Nintendo for bringing us Tetris DS!

They really need to get rid of the unlimited spin feature. On the ds it makes it near impossible to lose when you play by yourself. It wouldn't have been too bad if they would've let you turn it off.
