ack, You almost gave me a heart attack. The only though that keeps me living is knowing that one day I will actually get to play a starcraft 2.

I love diablo, Starcraft and Warcraft, all games, except of course WOW. My main beef with WOW is the monthly fee. I will NEVER pay a monthly fee ever for a single game. Second, the whole concept of WOW does not interest me really. Im not even that interested in starcraft, diablo, or warcraft storylines, characters, etc etc. I just love to play the strategy games as the controls and balances are so much better then other strategy games. Because of this, I was disapointed in starcraft ghost, and glad to see it was cancled. I want to play a RTS game, not some other genre of game using crappy sorylines from those game universes.

If you read your linked article, Chalex, it says nothing "official" has been announced. They didn't deny it would ever happen. Still, let's hope it never happens!

As much as I like World of Warcraft I wish Blizzed had created 'Universe of Starcraft' instead...

Meh, I'd love Diablo MMO but Starcraft it would be nice to have an RTSMMO if such a thing is possible.

I am currently going at it with Luke Smith, one of the main propegators of this false rumor. They decided to post the news which was originally posted at some unknown weblog, quoting a guy named only as "Shiznitz"

I'm really getting tired of the non-reporter reporting thats going on (hey, I read this in a weblog! it's on teh interwebs, it must be true! lets not check my sources first and just post it so everyone gets excited!)

As per previous messages, i believe if they created a Starcraft MMORPG in the vein of WoW, ALOT of people would be playing it also.. With Korea/Asian market being a huge online player of this game, i wouldnt doubt that it would be another winfall for Blizzard..

I've been thinking about this for a while now, because Blizzard has taken a bit of time to release a new version of one of their three big franchises (I don't cound WOW because lets face it, it's a different game).

Having just finished Warcraft 3 for what has to be the fifth time [yesterday, coincidentally], I'm really itching for Warcraft 4. Hell, I'd be happy if Blizzard just released FMV sequences like the ones in the last game. Those were stunning.

I'm not an MMO fan, but I'd imagine that it's tough for Blizzard to go back to their standard games when they have a cash cow like WOW on their hands.

I like Sci-Fi more than Fantasy.

Oh well, and here i was hoping there would never be a Starcrap 2/diablo 3/warshit 4. Lets just hope Blizzard is smart enough to never make them and if they do make them GOOD. Dunno about diablo, never played it, but boy oh boy does Starcrap and warshit need some major working on. They should hire people from Westwood to teach them the fundimentals of a GOOD rts. If those games do come out at least make them on PAR with other RTS titles. I mean come on Blizzard I'm sure you got one non-retarded worker there!

I was quite disappointed with Diablo 2, it felt like an MMO but without any other people. Grinding through identical fields of monsters really got on my nerves - especially since the dungeons were so fun, and the new skill tree system they had was AWESOME.

Maybe I just didn't get gar enough into the game, but it really put me off during the first few hours. Maybe it's not designed for people who like to make sure they have every item and make every creature dead.

I love World of Warcraft, however I'd be sad if they let their other franchises slip. Not that they ever would.

As a side note: does anyone remember how freakin' fantastic playing the original Diablo online was?

I want Diablo for DS. So awesome...

And I wouldn't count on Starcraft 2/Warcraft 4/Diablo 3 being, you know... GOOD, because what I heard is that the whole development teams that started those beasts jumped ship shortly after WOW was released, due to corporate bullshit.

Crono141 is right alot of those people left, when Vivendi took over distribution right of world of Warcraft. That is one of the reasons burning crusade worries me.

I would play World of Starcraft, and I am willing to bet at least 5 million people would jump on that band wagon with me.

number 11:

WTF?!

IS THAT A JOKE?!

i dont give a shit about what anybody says, starcraft and warcraft are the greatest RTS's of all time!!

lolz, westwood? hahahahahaha!!

and i really do love world of warcraft, and think its a great game, but it wouldnt seem like blizzard to become such a money sucking company and go pure mmo. they are fun, but to me there is nothing like playing a good rts online, its awsome!

and seeing as they are making upwards of 50 million dollars a month off of WoW monthly fees ALONE, i think they are doing ok...

but ghost was actually looking cool, and im fine with an mmo here, and a console shooter there, but i would rather them stick with what made them such a great company.

Sorry to break it to WoW lovers, but in my opinion, MMORPG's are the lowest of the low games. I would eternally boycott Blizzard if they did so. One, MMORPG's, in essence, are pointless. There is no goal basically. It is also very antisocial. Now you can say it is the most social, but it isn't. Not even an online social, like the kind online shooters and racers bring, it is just anti-social. If you want multi-player goodness, play Mario Kart, or Soldat.

Of course, if you don't care about being anti-social, then it's ok =P

Oh, and one more thing. WC3 was one of the best games I've ever played, especially due to the story. You can't get a good, solid story in an MMORPG. So basically, I want WC4, not WoW2: Funeral Crashing!
