you shouldve started and ended your post with , and used a period or comma sometimes. I'm a Nintendo fanboy too, but after a while, you get used to people talking about them as if they are the same. People know who had motion sensing this gen 1st, so no need to get all emotional about it. I mean, come on man, you were YELLING in your post!

My take:
Yes, the technology isn't innovative, but look who has tried it in the past. M$, the company that had to steal the idea behind the mouse.
Nintendo is putting themselves on the line with this concept. I trust them as innovators and at the same time a profitable company, I'm betting it's a huge hit and changes everything. Which is long after due. Better hardware which basically just means better graphics does not single-handedly add up to a great game.

I consider myself a Video Game Fanboy, so there is no bias in this post.

The PS3 controller is a joke and is not to be compare with the Wiimote. Many people have been playing with basically the same Sony controller for approx 10 years. People have built up tendancies/habits of moving themselves and the controller in different ways in a given situation (and these movements vary by the person). Now, if you add motion sensitivity to the controller then different people with their different tendancies will get a different response from the controller.

Let's take a look at the Wiimote. It's a forengn object in the world of (console) gaming. No tendancies are built up yet - granted tendancies will be built, but since they will be centered on the basis of motion, it will be easier to adapt.

I have faith that both companies will have fun & interesting titles and will both be successful this time around. Sony has too big of a lead and too many faithful followers to fall FLAT on their faces - but with their price point, there will definitely be some stumblage. I have a feeling that very few Developers will incorporate the motion sensors in PS3 games - and if they do, it will be used sparingly. And let's just hope that Nintendo fix the bugs pointed out at E3 - and i'll be one happy gamer.

Back in the day of the N64, i was looking through a local game shop and found something that looked like a rumble pack for the N64 but noticed something extra with it, a dongle that connected between the controller and the console, priced at £4.99 i decided to buy it.

Getting home i opened it and took a look, it was a memory card, rumble pack and motion sensor. You pressed L, R and Start and the unit turned itself on and set its point at zero, but controlling it was horrible, much like the video from sonys keynote, all moves had to be exaggerated, and getting precise movement was impossible, its how i feel sonys controller will feel, cheap and tacky and if turned on tilting forward slightly would mean you always moved forward.

But for the record, if nintendo had motion sensing with the N64 then sony copied them...

Well said.

It seems that some of us would do well to invest a bit more time getting intimate with the English language and less time trying to literarily prove a point when even tasks as simple as punctuation, spelling and thought development elude us.

Having said that, we all can agree that the comparisons between the motion sensing capabilities of the Way and PS3's respective controllers are limited at best. Nintendo built a system around a new and divergent 3 dimensional sensing technology and set itself apart once again as the disruptor in the video game industry, continuing to forgo the heavily traveled path of exponentially boosting processing power at the expense of the consumer's bank account in lieu of actually evolving gaming into something truly different. As the name implies, PS3 is the true successor to the PS2; the status quo on steroids. The late addition of rudimentary tilt motion sensory in the PS3 controller and then directl comparison to the Wiimote is akin to squirting ketchup on ramon noodles and calling it spaghetti. It’s not the same thing. The "wow" factor inherent with the increase in graphical prowess cannot be fodder for conjecture, but unless something new if offered in how we play then we run the risk of gaming becoming an arid landscape as it did in the 80's. The PS3 will serve its master’s purpose; implanting blueray players across a nation, and secondarily, graphics that will awe you. The Wii will offer you a different experience entirely and both Sony and Microsoft have agreed saying that it will be the second system on the shelf next to theirs. At least they’re half right.
