The official website for the GTA clone also known as Saints Row claims the demo will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace August 1. That should give fans of sandbox sycophancy almost a full month of practice drive-bys before the game hits on the 29th. The demo will also be on the Official Xbox Magazine cover DVD.
When I played Saints Row at E3, I didn't get the satirical vibe that makes the Grand Theft Auto brand more than the sum of its parts, although the obvious next-gen advantages were there. Do these Saints have a prayer of teaching Rockstar a thing or two about open-world gangland violence, or is it doomed to be a mere placeholder until the "real" game gets released?
