007craft @ Jun 24th 2006 5:42PM
Hey joystiq... did you know "Gold" rhymes with "Old"?
Sorry. I couldent resist
T-Bag @ Jun 24th 2006 5:43PM
That's Gangsta!
Even though 99.9% of gangsters wouldn't ever be able to afford it. Unless of course you match drug dealers with the mafia. Which of course would change the percentage immensely. In fact I think it's going to be mandatory for ever Mafioso to own one of these babies by 2007. Especially since Mario represents both the Italian and Russian mafia.

Yeah, this is an outdated system. If anyone bought this, it would be more of a flaunt of their wealth than anything else. There is no other point to own it!

Welcome to Joystiq, Robert Summa!
We know you haven't been here long, but you may want to search the archives and check with the other editors before posting something that doesn't have a definate time-sensitive element. It may have been posted before!
Thank you for your work! Good luck!
1up_clock @ Jun 24th 2006 6:20PM
Fah.
I'll take a gold DS Lite over this outdated crap.
idioteraser @ Jun 24th 2006 6:36PM
Didn't 50 cent get a DS like this one a while ago? Paris Hilton and other celebs have had custom designed DSs made for them.
Robert Summa @ Jun 24th 2006 6:37PM
Well don't I feel stupid now. I curse the person who sent in that tip!!!

Update 1: We F'd up.
Robert Summa @ Jun 24th 2006 6:53PM
Think of this post as a more detailed update of last year's initial offering. At least, that's how I'm gonna look at it, so I can sleep at night.
anon @ Jun 24th 2006 7:05PM
word, i was just thinking that. no hard feelings, keep up the good work. :)
Geraldo Figueras @ Jun 24th 2006 9:15PM
Actually, that's not the first system to come in a "gold edition", the Game Gear before that did it, back in ol' 80s.
n8dogg @ Jun 25th 2006 1:12AM
Hey, at least this post reminded me of the admittedly weak, yet still enjoyable third Austin Powers film.
Tell me, Mr. Summa, are you Dutch? ;)
Rafi @ Jun 25th 2006 1:47AM
Who wouldn't want to carry around a $25000 Game Boy! Pfft, screw the DS Lite's new philosophy of cheap cost, sleek design and Apple like simplness, its all about the bling now, baby!
Manoel Balbino @ Jun 25th 2006 10:00AM
While some postesd about this being old news, it's obvious they don't know how old this actually is.
I remember reading this "news" in a magazing in the early '90s ('92 or '93, can't remember now I was only a pre-teen back then).
So it seems someone found some of those 12+ years old golden gameboys while cleaning the storage room and decided to re-announce them...
nightshadow97 @ Jun 25th 2006 11:16AM
why
LaughingMan @ Jun 25th 2006 11:49AM
Now all we need is a time machine to get this to either DJ E-Z Rock or Rob Base.

That's a big negative on your question. I don't speak freaky deaky Dutch.
I have no idea really what my background is. I think a mix of any European country, mostly German though, I believe.
