We're not sure why, but there's been an abnormally high number of "top 10 something" in gaming lists as of late. To pay homage while simultaneously make fun of all the 10's, we give to you Joystiq's top 10 gaming top 10 lists (say that 10 times as fast as you can). And just for good measure, we won't even count the
two lists posted today:
- Joystiq's top 10 hidden gems of this generation
- Top Ten hugely overrated games
- Meta top 10 video game list
- 10 franchises that need a return
- Top 10 custom-built consoles
- The 10 worst in-game quotes
- CNET top 10 video games 1995 to 2005
- Top 10 HD myths, in full resolution
- Readers vote on top 10 NES games
- Top 10 reasons the Xbox 360 doesn't quite rock, yet
Though we're suckers for the good conversation they bring, which top 10 gaming list have you grown tired of, and which top 10 list should get more attention? Post your top 10 list recommendations in the comments below.

I freak out and call them a fraud if Zelda isn't there though. I guess My inner nintendo Fanboy can't accept other people may have a different opinion than my own, but to the grill with them. If Zelda Ain't there then the list is a fraud!

Rofl, his reason was that they weren't classics like Resident evil, MGS and Half life 1.

some of those covers are just hilariously terrible. I remember there was some top 10 list about bad video game ads, but I think the covers list is way better.

One, it was the appropriate number to make sure that every staffer's #1 game got in the main list.
Two, it avoided the annoying habit of numbered lists where a couple ties extends the list past the number anyhow.
Three, a Top 22 list is much more memorable than a Top 10.
