Preemptive warning: Xbox Live down today for 4 hours

Grab the purified water (for your 360, natch), charge up the batteries (using the Quick Charge kit), and don't forget all the canned goods (for eating, stupid)! Now quickly, to the shelter! It won't be long before it's upon us ... an Xbox Live outage!
Oooooooh, shiny new features? The good Major stubs his cigar out in your bright eyes barking, "This is for maintenance, there are no new features that will appear when the service comes back online. This is all for server maintenance...nothing more, nothing less."
Phew, looks like this is only a drill. Guess we'll have to pass the time with a good, old-fashioned game of UNO ... with real cards. It's only a couple hours.
[Update: Ugh, this was supposed to go up last night. As of right now, the outage is over and XBL is back online with -- as promised -- no new features. Consider this a response to the handful of tips we got on the outage then.]

What ever you do, do not go outside because month's of video-gaming has left you skin pale and vulnerable. Do not engage in conversation with family as you're brain has atrophied and the strain could cause an aneurism. Just sit there and do nothing, please...

Prey demo better be up when it comes back or someone gets hurt.
With our luck they'll put up about a half dozen more themes and "picture packs" for $1 each that no one will buy. Flood the marketplace with more useless stuff! Yay!

What happened to the Chrome Hounds demo? It was supposedly up for grabs on the Japanese Live area yesterday, but now it's nowhere to be seen...
Why do demos keep on appearing and dissapearing on Live? Is it some kind of practical joke?
First King Kong, then Lost Planet and now Chrome Hounds...
Anybody manage to grab it anyway?

At least Lost Planet came back; KK is still MIA with no explanation. I'll try to check out the Chrome Hounds thing.

i got kicked off Live during a BTB match on Halo 2. surprised the hell out of me..
