Wow. People really take these seriously, eh?

I think "uber-geek" when I see them, and can barely restrain myself from heckling in a robotic tone, "Resistance.is.futile.You.WILL.be.assimilated!"

But then again, only a geek would want to use such a phrase as mockery.. hmm..

I don't know, having a wireless headset has never been a priority for me, since the controller itself is wireless.

But even if you have the wired controller, do you really need the extra freedom of movement a wireless headset provides?

I guess if you use the communication feature of Xbox Live independent of game play and you want to walk around your house or neighborhood and talk to people, and walking around with the wired headset and controller just made you look plain stupid, then yeah, this makes a lot of sense.

I file this under, 'hey it looks cool' but is one of those options I don't necesarily have to have.

All I really want is the dongle - then I'd have the choice of any bluetooth headset on the market. I have a hard time hearing people on Live, and I'd love to use a stereo bluetooth headset.

I would love to get it...if it weren't $109! Even though the controller is wireless, more freedom would still be nice. Not to mention a much more compact headset. But my question is, couldn't they just release an adapter to work with other already available headsets? And if not, why the hell so expensive. The average BT headset is $50, so that's another $60 for the adapter. Lower the price and count me in.

Hey, why even wait for this? I've been using my bluetooth headset from my cellphone on the 360 for a while now. My cellphone isn't bluetooth compatible, so I had to pick up the bluetooth dongle for it. Turns out that plugs right into the controller too, and I can use the headset to talk just fine. Though to be honest, the quality isn't the best. Nice to be totally wireless though.

That dongle can plug into headphone jack too, for some wireless I-Podage as well. I don't think the 3rd party solution to the 360, or microsofts solution will be much different from what I'm doing now.

This looks ok, but the reason I am waiting for the official MS one is that it will interface directly with the internal wireless receiver right on the 360. This one needs an extra dongle to tack onto the bottom of the controller. Plus, I've seen the MS one and it is sleek and sexy.

"Strikingly similiar' I suppose, if you've never seen a bluetooth headset... That's pretty much the way those things look.

I definitely agree with JakenBear, the real appeal of the MS one is that it interfaces with the 360 unit itself, not the controller, getting rid of the dongle/puck altogether. I wonder how it will charge?

But... Will we still be saddled with the same mediocre audio quality of the 360 headset? And you know what? Don't flame on me for asking that, it's generally accepted that the 360 headset doesn't sound as good as the original XBox did over LIVE...
