In that image you can see the sensor on the bottom of the TV. In comparison to the Wii, the sensor looks pretty subtle.

It appears the sensor bar can go either above or below the screen... I just have two questions:

1)how do you mount the sensor bar on a hanging screen for the projector, and

2)will the Wii have a setting to determine how big your tv is. (ie, 2 feet left of centre is the edge of my big screen, but on my 27" 2 feet left of centre would be pointing at the wall). Most games probably won't matter... but imagine playing WiiDuckHunt and none of your shots line up.

Carlos,

If you're going to put the effort into "dissing" a subject, at least use proper grammar, spelling and puncuation so you don't like like a 13 year old drop out in the process.

-Love,
Mom

Anyways, back on topic, some more good news from the Wii.. although, I wish they provided more comparison images.

Sorry #4, my arrows weren't meant for you! :D

To be topical, I never realised how sexy that blue rim around the CD slot looks. Very slick all around...

/me looks at watch

...damn is still Summer. :(

#6, I'd have to believe that Nintendo consider most any possible combinations of setups. Consider that its rather specific in its function, so as long as you can point the bar outwards towards your playing area, you should be fine, be it above the tv or even as low as just on the floor in front of a projection.

As for shooting game, I understand it now that its not Line of Sight, like a lightgun or laser pointer, but rather cumulative motion, like a mouse is to your monitor. You pitch and yaw the Wiimote, and the curor updates its position on screen. Of course I could have misread that, but it does make sense with regards to varying tv sizes and calibration.

#7, was my first comment too subtle? I think your direct approach might have more impact...at least it wasn't just me that felt as such.

Thank you! :D

For a while now, I've been wondering whether or not the sensor bar would be the Wii's eyesore. It's nice to find out that it might not only look as sleek and streamlined as the console itself, but wouldn't be much larger.

Trust me...the sensor is VERY subtle and will blend into where ever it is placed. People (i.e. EVERYONE) that are (still) bitching about there being a sensor need to relax and stop whinning.

That's a Sync button under the flap in Pinky's pic. Probably for syncing out to the Wii controllers, DS, and any other Bluetooth/wifi device in range.

A little dissappointing in that I was hoping for more media options. Oh well, hopefully the USB harddrive is confirmed, and there's always the possibility of this not being final-final hardware.

The Start/Select buttons have changed once again:

The picture at Thrillho's link makes it clearer.

The Start button has a Pause || symbol, and the Select button has a arrow rotating backwards. But these might not be final units, considering they don't say "Wii."

Plus the sensor bar still works with projection tvs. Just attach the sensor bar below or the side of where the projection is aimed. May have to pay for an extension though.

Don't you think they may have just switched the start and select buttons? The two bars look like a pause button on most media devices....and the arrow represents something going back to the start of something.

I think it obviously just symbolizes the names of the buttons, which is start and select...unless they go ahead with "+" and "-" instead.

Nothing to add really besides what they said on the Spanish website (I'm going to attempt to translate although I know that my Spanish skills are horrible):

"En realidad es mucho más pequeña de lo que parece en las imágenes oficiales, pues medía nada más que 20cm."

=> "In reality, it's a lot smaller than the one shown in the official pictures, therefore it's approximately not more than 20 cm."

PS: Since it's a blog and this is supposed to be a comment, I might as well do so. It's a great shot: the sensor bar seems minimalistic and stylish which seems to be like great news (although there will still be people wishing for its non-existence).

I have seen the Wii eject a disc, we know what the sensor bar looks like, and that it's an SD slot behind the flap, and we know about the GCN ports on the top of the machine. But what no one is asking about is how do you insert a GCN disc? Do you just insert it into the middle of the slot and the Wii will grab it automatically? I wanna see that.

Nintendo stated it is the first device capable of self loading 8cm and 12cm discs.
