Star Wars 30th anniversary game, TV shows update
The Force was strong at the Licensing 2006 International trade show in New York last week. Lucas Licensing is coming off a record year of $3 billion in worldwide retail sales of its Star Wars consumer products. And despite the end of the movies, the franchise appears stronger than ever.In addition to this year's launch of Lego Star Wars II and the DVD release of the unaltered original trilogy, fans of the Force will have a 30th anniversary game to look forward to in Fall 2007. Lucas reps also confirmed both the CG-animated and live-action Star Wars TV shows are scheduled to debut in 2008.
Now, if only they could get Galaxies out of its galactic funk.

I think after 30 years it's time to let it go. No more Star Wars anything. The more things that come out for Star Wars the worse they get...and I'm not just talking games.
Let the downpour hateful comments from Star Wars geeks commence.

I hope that amidst all this next-gen technology, they manage to make the REST of the games good. The last Indiana Jones game with a decent story was the graphic adventure Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis for MS-DOS, which was released 14 years ago. The latest Star Wars action games have had lame stories too, such as Jedi Academy. Even Knights of the Old Republic's story was only half-cool. Who actually cared about the "Star Forge"?

Hey now, don't be putting down KOTOR - the best Star Wars game of all time. Would have been the best-selling too, if it had been available on PS2 and GameCube.
I hope the live action TV series takes place in the Tales of the Jedi or KOTOR timelines. I'd like to see a CG series of Dark Empire or the Timothy Zahn trilogy.

That "30th anniversary game" happens to be the next-gen Star Wars game that was shown behind closed doors at E3. If you look at the leaked artworks, you can see that it will be an action game that will feature Darth Vader as one of the main villains. It will take place between Episode 3 and 4.

No hate comments here for the person who said no more SW anything...just a question. Why are you wasting your time reading and posting about SW if you hate it so badly? Methinks you doth protest too much.

SWG will probably never get out of its funk. It's one of the most horribly designed MMO's I've ever played.
Can't wait for the new shows, though. Looking forward to see what Star Wars has left up its sleeve.

So, not only are you guys publishing uber-biased bandwagon-of-hate articles about the game, but you're linking to them in your more professional articles about the same franchise. Nice.
I mean, don't get me wrong; I love your site, and I don't like the game in question; but come on.

What I wouldn't give for an actual GOOD star wars mmo... *curls up in a fetal position, crying*
