"As for gamers who talk about Japan game sales. Who cares about the Japanese?

Screw the Japanese. They only focus on the consoles that their country makes just like automobiles. It is their nationalism not the games that Microsoft releases.

And in reality Microsoft does not need Japan to win this generation since they are branching out in more markets than in any previous generation such as Eastern Europe."

Wow... so Microsoft doesn't need to make money? They want to just hand one of the two largest markets in the gaming world over to Nintendo and Sony? Sounds like a great business strategy.

"The Xbox 360 has[...]innovative gameplay. Innovative Gameplay? YES. Have you seen the likes of Gears of War? Yes this game is changing first person shooters. Halo is going to change everything."

This kind of ambiguous statement makes me wonder why you even bother posting. I seriously doubt you could say anything with less of a point.

Halo is going to change everything, right? You mean... like the Wii did when it left Sony scrambling to implement a "half fast" (please actually know the term before you use it there, smart guy) motion sensing into their Ps3 controller? Do you actually know where the shoulder buttons on your 360 controller originated? That's right, Nintendo. Vibrating function? Nintendo again. Joystick on the controller instead of a D-pad? Nintendo, Nintendo, Nintendo.

Only this time, they're going for mainstream. Standard DVD player with an incredibly different controller. You think it's a gimmick? How is completely reinventing the way you act with the game on the screen a gimmick? Have you ever played Time Crisis in the arcades? Is it a gimmick to have a metal pad to step on, or does it really make the game more exciting? I sincerely hope you think the latter is the case. But if you don't, fine. I'm sure you'll be happy playing your standard controller on an ultra hi-def TV in 2040 while the rest of us are encompassed in virtual reality.

I should also mention that Halo, for the record, did NOT revolutionize FPS play. It was simply the first decent console FPS ever released. It's amazing how horrifically the game plays after you've used a mouse for aiming for 4+ years of PC FPS games.

"The Xbox 360 has great graphics, lots of games, DVD, HD-DVD add on, High Definition Graphics, and innovative gameplay."

The PSP has great graphics (for a portable), lots of games, high def graphics, an insane amount of multimedia uses....

And is getting solidly trounced by the DS in sales. You think the 360 has innovative gameplay while simultaneously dismissing the Wii as a gimmick? Since when are horribly buggy sports games, FPSs with improved graphics (although I can't wait to see how well the next FPS from the vaunted 360 stacks up to Crysis for PC, which will further show that PCs have clearly surpassed the 360 in graphical capabilities), and hot racing games considered innovative? Even both games you list as reasons for the 360s superiority are.... dun dun dun... FPS games that STILL have poor gameplay compared to the keyboard-mouse combo of a PC.

Right now on Gamespot, 7 of the top 10 360 titles are FPS, racing, or sports. The top title is not an exclusive to the system. What's innovative, again? Even IF the 3 consoles were the same price, I'd still be picking up a Wii before a 360 or a Ps3. And for the record, I didn't buy a Gamecube. The Wii will definitely be a must-have, though.

Sorry for the long reply fellas. Just feel the need to vent at people who spout nonsense.

"19. i think when people look at the two and notice that Wii looks wee, they'll purchase ps3 or xbox 360 just because anything wee means its junky.

xbox 360 for the win." - Marcin

Yeah, because when people see an I-Pod, they always think, "Wow, it's smaller than my Walkman... it must be pretty junky."

I-Pod never stood a chance against Sony's Walkman juggernut. /sarcasm

Now coming from a supervisor of a video game section at a major toy/video game store i must say i am disgusted with microsoft's attempt at a game system, they may have the graphics but they dont have the games to back the system up, they dont even have a game that can harness the full potential of the 360. Their system is having enough problems as well right now, loading problems, freezing problems, ruining discs, this always happens when microsoft does something that they rush out to the market, they dont go through all of the possible problems that they could have. The Wii will be an amazing piece of gaming technology with the new controller and the new way of playing games, PS3 will have it's moments but it will be a close one to see who will finish first. As for games i do believe PS3 and the Wii will have the wider arsenal of games esp. with Wii's ability to download the older version games. Also if you look at the history of the systems you will see that Nintendo has pretty much come out with all the new ideas and then the other systems will just copy it, lets take for instance the 4-button pad on the controllers, the SNES came out with it and then the PS controller took it as well, going with the analog stick as well, so i do think it may be safe to say that between the PS3 and the Wii the 360 will be totally taken out, it cant handle the games, its graphics is all it has, too many problems with it, and microsoft's product blows why the hell would you buy it?? altogether PS3 will have good graphics but the price suxs, the Wii will have the new controller and a little new graphics, but the price will be lower and more affordable. i will be buying the Wii because i own every Nintendo system and i do say that they come out with the most interesting ideas other than the other systems. Also if you look at the track record of problems happening with the systems Microsoft ALWAYS HAS PROBLEMS WITH THEIR CRAP, you never want to buy it because they never have the bugs fixed and when they do its outdated, the PS consoles are better but not as good as Nintendo's track record, Sony does make a very good product but it usually takes about 6 months to work out the problems with the system, the Nintendo systems usually never have any problems or very minimal ones. As i said i will be buying the Wii because i do enjoy the games more and the creativity is amazing with the creators.

Wow. Wow. You guyz hav a lot of free time on your hands xD Well, first of all, I would like to agree with Sirius on the post he made on the first 50 comments or so >>;; I mean, come on! Grow up children! First of all, out of all things to compare, why would you really want to compare size of the system? How much is that really going to affect ur gameplay?? its gunna be fricking sitting somewhere near the t.v., not interrupting you button mashing at some kind of console controller. I mean, do you really hav that little things to compare in which ur confident the wii will beat the ps3 in (for all u wii fans/anti sony fans)?

Personally, I'm an all around game person. If its a good game... its a fricking good game ppl, no matter what console its on. I do think microsoft, sony, and nintendo do release a different variety of games tho.

For example, I actually havn't ever played an xbox in my life, but I do know how famous it is for its fps halo games. I'm actually not too big of a fan of fps quite yet, but if halo's attracting such a large crowd, I'm definitely willing to give it a try. Because of the Halo games however, I've always given the Xbox to have a stereo type of a preference toward the fps games, which i kno, is not entirely true, but seems to be so in some cases. But I have heard games such as DOA (Dead or Alive) were really worth playing as well.

As for the Nintendo consoles, the games released on those are probably games most preferred for large groups of ppl, hence the many controllers and many multi player games released. I would have to say its probably a console that really focuses on gameplay rather than storylines or such.

Lastly, I would really have to say sony's ps systems are for the majority, for the rpg and/or anime fans. PS2 had some amazing rpgs. For the nintendo system however, I'd have to be a really big fan of the Zelda series. It has wonderful gameplay and strategies that are needed to pass certain things and such and overall was a very fun game to play. The ideas they have for the games are also absolutely brilliant for the most part although, some appear to be repetitive from time to time.

Despite all of that, I'm a hardcore sony/ps3 fan, because of that games that really impressed me according to, probably story-wise and sometimes gameplay, depending on which games. But of course, personally, if its a good game, I'm willing to play it no matter what it is. I really do think its a matter of preference though, and just because your preference does not match the preference of some others, that does not give you the right to dis other consoles/systems, especially if they're consoles that aren't even fricking out yet and you havn't gotten a chance to touch yet. As for the xbox series, i hav no argument for or against it, having not played any of the consoles yet. There is no "right choice". Its either you like it or you don't according to preference.

Well anyways, to stay on topic tho, of what's better according to size (>.>;;), really, the ps3 has so many different things crammed into one, its a wide scale entertainment system while the wii is meant to be just for gaming, gee, I wonder why the hell the ps3 is so much bigger than the wii. Can you figure it out? Wow, neither can I. --;;

But anyways, lastly, to conclude with being on the same topic, size apparently just doesn't seem to matter, when ur playing a game that is projected on a fricking television screen and too bad for you, that you won't have time to stare at ur system while ur trying to figure out how to play a new game. Its really all on the content of the systems, how well it performs, and most important, probably the games. Of course, having a pretty piece of hardware in ur living room wouldn't hurt either, but really, if ur a gamer, act like a gamer, not a fricking decoration designer who's trying to fit in with the gamers.

And if some ppl are actually coming to this forum/post to try and decide what system to get, do urself a favor and leave. This place is more likely to raise more questions than answers. Unless you share the same interests as the people you're reading the posts of, I suggest u don't listen to them too much. If need be, keep some resourceful info in the bak of ur mind, but other than that, not much to be done... and that is that, and I finish with that kind/sincere suggestion =)

P.S. Yes, I hav a lot of time on my hands as well.
