Good point Ken.

So, why would I, or anyone for that matter, buy less than one-sixth the value for one-sixth the price? Because they are either bored or they don't want to be left out. From a mathematical standpoint, the new COD 2 maps are an imbalanced purchase that screams unfair to the low wage worker.

800 pts for 5 maps.. that translates into ten bucks. Ten bucks is about one sixth the original price of COD 2. Yet it doesn't have one sixth the gameplay value. Yes the maps are new, providing "interesting" new opportunities on COD2 to wipe out whiney 13 year olds (notice that I used the qualifier "whiney." I know that there are a few admirable 13 yrs olds out there), but what's really new? There isn't a new single player campaign. There aren't any new weapons. No new gameplay types. Heck, from what I have noticed of these new maps is that they are slightly changed reshashes of the single player maps.
Now, I know i am going to hear fanboys say, "well, no one says you have to buy it." True. I am simply pointing out from a logical, mathematical stance that you are getting screwed. If you still don't mind plunking down 10 big ones instead of putting it towards Gears of War or the next big shooter, be my guest. Settle for the lower quality here and now instead of the upper-class game of the future (which ironically , will probably follow in past predecessors' footsteps of releasing underrated, overhyped content for your hard-earned bank bucks).

In the end, only we, the consumer, are able to decide whether this new map pack is worth ten dollars, 20 Del Taco tacos, or 200 minutes of boring work time.

My advice: Let's think big picture. If you live at home, loan that ten dollars to your parents on 15% interest. Then, when Gears of War rolls around, you will have enough for its snazzy new map pack.

So do I get a star? ;)
Now let the flames begin...

Maybe it is because a lot of GRAW players are not COD players as well. Sorry, this homey ain't spending $60 on a game just to spend another $10-20 for additional maps that should be free. The entire aspect of free additional content is s bust as you are now nickle & dimed for it while the publishers put less effort into an expansion game. F-them!

I was never planning on NOT buying the new maps - I'm addicted to COD2, at least until Madden 2007 comes out - but I can't help but feel a little disappointed at this last map pack.

All of these map packs have been rehashes of single-player boards (with the exception of maybe 1). Vossanack is a spawn-killfest, it's not even worth playing anymore. I played the new ones for awhile last night and I'm still not sure how I feel.

It doesn't feel like a lot of thought went into these maps from a multiplayer perspective. More guns, more gameplay options or at least really original maps would have made this a little better.

800 MS points for 5 rehashed maps. And why did I pay for Villers-Bocage again when I don't play it in the first place? :)

I play COD2 2 to 3 times per week with a regular group of guys off my friends list and we picked up the new maps and tried them last night. We had also picked up the 2 free and 2 for $5 maps.

The 5 latest new maps are OK, but they are not worth $10. I was happy to see Harbor from COD1 (PC). The Eygpt map is nice and small, good if you only have a few guys for deathmatch. The 3 France maps don't seem much different from the others. Need to play them some more on Search and Destroy. I was hoping the Normandy map would have you on the beach, but its inland.

This game already had a lot of multiplayer maps so these last 5 are certainly not needed to enjoy the game. This amount of content should cost $5 at most.

I resisted the GR:AW add on for $15. It was tough since most of my buddies jumped on that and now I can't play that one on live. But GR:AW on live is still plagued with drops and crashes (which I hear got worse lately), so I don't miss it too much. And there's still singleplayer.

I agree with the post above. You are better off holding that $10 or $15 and putting towards your next game. Since I didn't get GR:AW I can take that $15 and sell GR:AW for $40 and have enough for a new game.

I bought the game when i got the system at launch. I completed the single-player campaign but the multiplayer was horrible. most of the time i couldnt even connect so i traded it in.
i heard that the patch fixed alot of the issues with the game. but i aint goin to spend 60 bucks on it again plus the price for all of these map packs. i'll stick with GRAW until Gears of War comes out.

I love COD2. It's the one launch game that I continue to play. I've played it more than Halo 2. Even after I went through Oblivion, I always went back to COD2. When you play it as much as I do, you tend to jump at the chance of getting new maps. I don't look at it like I'm being milked, but I looked at it as a chance to add something new and exciting to a game that I love to play. I've probably passed on a few games already just because I know i'll end up going back to COD2 after a few weeks. If you don't want extra content, then don't buy it. No one is forcing you, so why cry foul?

How much profit is enough for these guys? Clearly we are overpaying for the games out on the 360 now. Oblivion is the only game I've bought for the 360 where I've said wow this is next-gen. Sure alot of the games have nice graphics, but I haven't gotten a hold of a game that has defiend the 360 like Halo did when I got my XBOX. If they think they are going to get more of my money to put out more crap they can forget about it. I'll pay for extra Halo 2 maps because Halo 2 and Halo in general is worth it. Not G.R.A.W. with how buggy that game is still is they can fix it or refund me about 20% of the purchase price.
