I guess UbiPimp can rest on the larels knowing they can reduce their sales to 1/4 in order to pipe in the extra revenue. Still not paying for downloadable content when its been free for more than three years. Now, if they want to make the 360 version the same price as the PC version ... fair is fair.

Console owners (360 owners in particular) are the "bitches" of the gaming industry. Paying $10 more on average than any other gaming platform and then get sold all the "extras" for premium price. Suuuckers!

800 points in my book would have made for a better midpoint - many others say 400 points or free - but what's done is done. There's no denying the pricing was a bit high, but there is also no denying it sold itself. Which is why these poll numbers come off flawed. As a fellow GRAW player and one who bought the add-on pack, you can't tell me that only 26% of fellow GRAW players bought in. The vast majority of servers play the new maps and it's tough love trying to find a "regular" match. "They made out pretty well" is right. Like the price or not if you're a serious GRAW fan this release can become a forced purchase. Skipping it or heaven forbid waiting for them to go free might work for the casual branch, but the hardcore set will wanna buy in and they did in force.

Back when the Oblivion horse armor hit the fan, I sorta understood the backlash against the points system but now the issue has become moot. We can't forget that the Microsoft point system from the start was designed to be a money grab. So anyone devoted enough to go on endlessly about the failings of a money grab at this point can go voice their concerns to a brick wall. No one is forced to pay anything, it's a voluntary system. Pick 'n choose what you want, take it or leave it, but please don't drone on about the lack of free sandwiches when none were promised in the first place at this party.

#2: You forgot console prices are usually half to a third the cost of a decent gaming PC.

X-Box 360 Premium + GRAW = about $490 with sales taxes

Gaming PC + GRAW = about $2050 with sales taxes

Well, I guess that's the price you pay when you don't want to be a stereotypical computer nerd, such as yourself, who says things like "gaming industry." Shouldn't you be trading items with someone in WoW?

I agree with #3 in a BIG way. Think of Market Place as a HUGE salad bar. Take what you want and leave the rest. I like the Dl content and even though the 1200 points was a little steep to some people I play GRAW alot so for me I did'nt mind paying for the content. Like I have said before" don't hit the DL button if you can't afford or want the content" that simple!!

OK, but the kicker is....has anybody without the content tried to play a live game latelly? Good luck. Almost every game has people using the content, so if you want to actually play on live now, you almost have to get it too. Which pisses me off considering I bought GRAW a week ago, and now I cant even play it on live without either A) a huge hassle trying to find a game that isnt using the new content, or B) ponying up another 15 bucks.

Thats extorsion.

I actually did not know that you could'nt play with other people, that does stink and if it were me I would also feel that way. Just remember though when the Halo 2 content came out you had to pay to play and after 3 months it was FREE. Maybe UbiSoft will follow suit, they are usally very good to their fans!! Let's hope so!!!

Wait. Shouldn't we assume that the people who voted "I'd buy it for ____ points" didn't buy it?

That'd make it 1638 people who didn't buy it, and 575 people did.

I suppose that's still a third. But that's a lot worse then a half when you look at the amount of people in the gaming world.

@ Mr BoomStick XL
I hope UbiSoft will not follow Bungie's way of releasing the content for free later on, because they didn't mention it anywhere like Bungie did with the Halo maps. And if they do it unannounced I think a lot of the gamers who bought it will be upset (to put it mildly).

@ GRAW download
I haven't bought the content and will not buy it in the future. GRAW was fun offline, but the online part is nowhere near the offline experience ... how did they manage to turn the game into a simple crouchwalking fps and throwing out all the wall leaning and cover taking behind objects? I don't mind the graphics being a little less attractive in multiplayer but the control downgrade is not acceptable in my book. Enough complaining ... let's jump in XD

Assuming the data from this poll is accurate, the profit maximizing price for the update would have been 800 points. Based on the data the following prices would have yielded the following revenues:

1200 points - 1200 x 26% = 312
800 points - 800 x 42% = 336
400 points - 400 x 62% = 248

Sure, the poll wasn't scientific, but the results are pretty interesting nonetheless.

Free wins as usual, there must be a good reason for paying, and this one ain't got one!
