Claymation + puppy kicking = GTA parody

Cartoon Network's Robot Chicken does video games again, trading in their FFVII dolls for some Grand Theft Au ... errr, excuse me, Grand Theft Larceny: San Diego action figures. Beating a nun with a crucifix, kicking puppies, incestuous Hot Coffee, it's all in here. The thing about GTA parodies is, doesn't anyone else already see GTA as a parody of itself, a pastiche of inner-city culture? It's like Stephen Colbert's Colbert Report character; he's not any more outrageous than the personality cultists he's mocking. Pedantic observations aside, this bit, like Colbert, is still good for some giggles. Need proof: the video is embedded after the break.

"...doesn't anyone else already see GTA as a parody of itself..."
A parody of itself or a parody in itself? Do you mean GTA is already making fun of itself or making fun of the society it's depticting.
I think GTA is a good example of exaggerated social critique. People call it violent, but it's just art imitating life (and greatly exaggerating it). Because the player is given so much freedom, that exageration potentially becomes even greater. The fact that it has become successful just reinforces the idea that people have violent impulses.
Also, the game is only as violent as the person playing it, to some degree. I think that's what this video is making fun of.
As for Colbert, I think that's the irony of his show. Unlike GTA, He's not exagerrating things. He's saying exactly what others are saying, but doing it in a way that shows how absurd some of it is.

The Adult Swim website has full length episodes updated weekly. There's also an expanded selection, usually new episodes, available on Friday only.
It doesn't seem as if Robot Chicken is in the lineup this week, though.

If you're after the episodes you can also check www.gorillamask.net which seems to have a new one every day.

"I think GTA is a good example of exaggerated social critique."
I'd agree - it's clear enough from the radio stations and advertisements in-game that GTA is at least in part a satire.

I don't mean to be picky but I believe Robot Chicken in general and this clip in particular uses stop-motion as an animation technique and not claymation. The first makes use of "puppets" while the other uses clay. However, they both use 1-shot/frame to create motion and can be understandably confused. But for the sake of entropy claymation is a specific kind of stop-motion technique.
