Thryon @ Jul 4th 2006 8:43AM
Since it is not a holiday in Canada (we had our fun on Saturday) I am hoping I can get a copy of BFMEII for the X360. If not, then more Oblivion.
Stewart Bananas @ Jul 4th 2006 8:46AM

Reeve @ Jul 4th 2006 8:55AM
Already did my daily round of Animal Crossing: Wild World; don't know if I'll be touching any other games today, but if I do, I'll probably be continuing on with Phantom Brave.
$p0n33 @ Jul 4th 2006 8:55AM
I'll be playing all right...beer pong that is!
Gerwurztraminer @ Jul 4th 2006 9:03AM
I hear Psychonauts is pretty good. I might give it a try.
Insomnia Bob @ Jul 4th 2006 9:18AM
Nothin! There's nothing good out. Hooray for summer.
Chinami @ Jul 4th 2006 9:26AM
I'll be on a very long plane flight.
How patriotic! I'm flying to England on the fourth of July. That's like... irony, really bad. Really bad irony.
Karen @ Jul 4th 2006 9:31AM
I was planning on playing Star Wars: Rogue Squardron II, I love blowing up TIE fighters. But I just read about the Challenge mode for The New Mario Bros. So, I'll probably shouting "No, jump" at my DS instead.
Challenge Mode story here:

Wari0 @ Jul 4th 2006 9:31AM
Baten Kaitos on GameCube... gotta beat this game before the next one comes out this Fall.
Lightguy @ Jul 4th 2006 9:42AM
Here in England the 4th of July is known as 'Good Riddance day' :P
FrenchPoodle @ Jul 4th 2006 9:43AM
Just picked up my DS Lite 2 days ago with 6 games so I'll be playing that! Eventhough I went to CircuitCity for that deal and they were like sold out of everthing! O well haha
but yea happy 4th of july!
Jay @ Jul 4th 2006 9:43AM
No holiday here. Just a typical Manchester heat wave. ie, intense heat until the afternoon where massive lightning storms take over. The day I got my first sun burn was the same day our garage got struck by lightning.
I'm playing a LOT of Mario DS and Castlevania.
Skip @ Jul 4th 2006 9:52AM
Decided to replay through SC:Chaos Theory yesterday. Now that I think about it, makes sense. I'll be spending my Independence Day with Sam Fisher!
rokorre @ Jul 4th 2006 9:54AM
As if there would be any question . . . FANTAVISION of course as if there is any other game to play on a day when your suposed to be using real firwerks ^_^
Royale @ Jul 4th 2006 9:57AM
LOL Hooray for FANTAVISION! I forgot about that... I just might have to bust it out.
Well... since the WoW servers are down for "maintenance" my brothers and i will be playing some hot steamy DotA.
Ace_ofspade @ Jul 4th 2006 9:58AM
TO BLOWING CRAP UP!
Vince @ Jul 4th 2006 10:01AM
"Just a typical Manchester heat wave."
That's an oxymoron isn't it? :p
Jay @ Jul 4th 2006 10:07AM
if you're from Manchester you'd know. any heat is quickly followed by a storm. thats the typical manc storm!
... suddenly reminded of ice hockey.
puh_fifer @ Jul 4th 2006 10:28AM
I'm an all american retail worker so I'm stuck here until the district manager says "Wow, you guys are doing no business, go home."
When I get home it'll be back to point whoring on BF2 on my 360. I'm almost a chief warrant officer!
At least while I'm here I'll just read blogs and visit despair.com. "This glass is now half empty."
HotShotX @ Jul 4th 2006 10:35AM
Steambot Chronicles by day...
Girlfriend, Beach, and Fireworks by night...
~HotShotX
Colon D @ Jul 4th 2006 11:05AM

Chaz1776 @ Jul 4th 2006 11:24AM

SuicideNinja @ Jul 4th 2006 11:28AM
I'll be playing that game called installing a new hard drive in my mother's laptop because hers is dead.
funkonaut @ Jul 4th 2006 11:32AM

Jewzilla @ Jul 4th 2006 11:43AM
This long weekend has me remembering a phrase I've, sadly enough, been thinking less and less:
Damn, I love being American.
matt @ Jul 4th 2006 11:44AM
Ace_ofspade,
i am with you on that. just blowin stuff up.
Tim Sonderman @ Jul 4th 2006 11:48AM
Geometry Wars=Fireworks on crack
(Geometry Wars-George Washington... Coincidence? I think not.)
cap-n-crunch @ Jul 4th 2006 12:02PM
Geometry Wars-George Washington... Coincidence? I think not.)
Damn! that's wild tim. How did you discover that?
I'm playing it today in yout honor
nindustrial @ Jul 4th 2006 12:14PM
playin' at the beach with a near-endless supply of beer. Then kickball!
Rare Hare @ Jul 4th 2006 12:19PM
"Well... since the WoW servers are down for "maintenance" my brothers and i will be playing some hot steamy DotA."
The funny thing about that comment is that the Diablo II US East servers are down for "maintenance" as well. A friend of mine and I discovered that it's apparently because some of the Blizzard tech people are on vacation, or something. Lame!
Anyways, since I'm heading to a friend's house right after I get off work at 9:00 this evening, we'll most likely bust out his SNES and play some Double Dragon or Tecmo Super Bowl.
Although the most American game to play would probably be Resident Evil 4. Celebrate this holiday by popping some foreigners in the face with a shotgun. Mmm..
Manuel Labour @ Jul 4th 2006 12:29PM
Popping foreigners in the face with a shotgun?
I am so getting that game.
Dux @ Jul 4th 2006 12:33PM
INDEPENDANCE DAY YEAAAAAAA!!!! AMERICAN!!!!
bassbeast @ Jul 4th 2006 12:35PM
I'm at work today, as I'm Canadian. Still, I'm going through Phoenix Wright and loving it (managed to track down a copy).
I did, however, go camping this past weekend, where I got burned by a hot metal plate and my foot eaten by leeches.
Ska Mike @ Jul 4th 2006 12:40PM
Metroid Prime Hunters
Then add vodka for a fun night.
Chris Taran @ Jul 4th 2006 12:51PM
I'll be playing me some Pheonix Wright today. Trying to get the game comepleted so I can move on to either Dragon Quest 8 or Advance War: Duel Strike.
But for now, heading out for some BBQ. Enjoy!
n8dogg @ Jul 4th 2006 12:59PM
I'll be watching the semi-final. POR-TU-GAALLLLL!!!!
(If France wins, that's ok too.)
Vagabond Artist @ Jul 4th 2006 1:02PM
I'm probably going to pick up a psp and a copy of daxter and fifa 06 later today.
The ZeroCorpse @ Jul 4th 2006 1:03PM
I have to work! :(
Oh well, it's holiday pay.
thrillho @ Jul 4th 2006 1:15PM
i have to work with NO holiday pay. (at my job, you leave your religious beliefs and patriotism at the door on your way in). so i'm stuck reading all these gaming news sites that have no updates due to the holiday. poo...
Joe @ Jul 4th 2006 1:16PM
MGS3 Subsistence and GTA: Vice City.
I would be celebrating my independance with my sister's copy of "Get on da Mic" but she refuses to go back to EB Games and tell the clerk he gave her the wrong game yesterday, saying "Games are stupid".
that guy @ Jul 4th 2006 1:45PM
I'm Canadian, so our holiday was this past weekend. Nonetheless, I'm near the end of Hitman Blood Money so I'm trying to finish that tonight. I also have a weird, unhealthy obsession with Zookeeper lately for DS. Also going to check out the Prey demo tonight on 360.
The choice of games is pretty shitty nowadays, but it's not all bad, and this really is a good chance to catch up on those old games you may have passed over before for whatever reason.
Steven @ Jul 4th 2006 1:54PM
I am a bit sad that Joystiq had to go and refer to Independence Day as "Fourth of July." This better be because you have a fear of the possibility that if you said "Independence Day," Will Smith will show up out of nowhere and murder your dog.
Oh and I'll probably play a little bit more of Mario & Luigi: Partners In Time, maybe Metal Gear Online, I dunno.
Franky Digital @ Jul 4th 2006 2:02PM
Out of irony, I'm playing Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Here's to American Liberty, and the scary fact that the Patriots could very well be real.
Eric @ Jul 4th 2006 2:10PM
Nascar 2005 and Need for Speed High Stakes. I ain't gonna have no fireworks slow me down!
MegaMatt @ Jul 4th 2006 2:38PM
I will be celebrating our country overcoming great odds and remembering every person that fought to overcome those odds and that has fought to keep us free since.
