A country that celebrates it's day of freedom that also had a huge slave thing going on and only stopped it's blatant racism in every level of society until only last century makes me laugh.

Jay...STFU. I'm sure your country has never done anything wrong and has respected every single human being right? Independence Day is about us breaking away and being an independent country.

"(at my job, you leave your religious beliefs and patriotism at the door on your way in)"

...and for the guy who said that. Where do you work dude? Religious beliefs I can understand but leaving your patriotsm at the door? That's kinda messed up.

Happy 4th and a late happy Canada Day to my fellow Joystiquers from the great white north.

I think I'll celebrate by beating the crap out of people in the Street Fighter Alpha Anthology.

Well right now I'm about to fire up some TetrisDS... but later tonight I think me and some buddies are going to get tanked while playing Super Smash Bros.

It's a wonderful game to incorperate a drinking element to... try it.

Wow talk about lame, if u hate it here so much than leave. This country has had its problems but its Fourth of July. We should celebrate living in the greatest democracy on earth and the people who gave there live for it. This country is very diverse and I have u know most other countries are homogonous. This is the land of opportunity and freedom

It's a marathon game of Civilization IV for me, with a patriotic soundtrack playing loudly in the background. Couldn't find anywhere that sold fireworks here in the UK (i'm american) so I had to give up on the idea of sharing the joys of our independence ;) oh well lol!

Blast off fireworks, and play Halo:Combat Evolved on my 360. I just started playing Halo for the first time, and it's pretty cool. I'm not one of those people that need awesome graphics, but Halo's graphics don't really stand the test of time. However, the gunplay is sweet!

hey 59, maybe you should look beyond some politics that you dont agree with. and your hatred for the president and think about this country as a whole, and the fact that you are living in this great country. there is more to it than politics, why dont you think about what is actually your life? the fact that you are in a country where you can get a good education, be free, believe or not believe whatever you want, or this great country where you CAN insult the president if you wish.

You seem to be one of those radical leftist, that want nothing good for our country, like those people in San Francisco, that disrespect the military service men, and throw things at them. And THEY call that 'free speech'. Your rights stop when you infringe on other peoples rights, and that there is assualt....damn I hate the radical left in our countrie...GOO U.S.A!! and Im with @62 leave America dude...we dont like you here...

Yeah, Jay, you know what? I'm just about sick of all of your anti-USA comments. It seems like everything you say on Joystiq has to do with how your country is so much better than the US. Just shut up. You don't have a reason to be posting here anyway, as it isn't your holiday. If you don't like it, leave us alone.

I'm a liberal, and I don't agree with our government's current state, but that doesn't mean I'm not proud of my country and thankful that I live here.

BTW, we only played one game of Tecmo Super Bowl yesterday as we were all too busy throwing bottle rockets at eachother, but I won that game 21-12. Thank you, Barry Sanders.
